The blonde lady with short hair which was serving was so rude. When it came to paying the machine kept on declining and it was obviously something wrong with the card machine as we tried 5 different accounts. Each time it was declined she said in a raised voice “DECLINED!” Which everyone could hear and was very embarrassing. When we trying to tell her there’s something wrong with the card machines she was defensive and kept saying it can’t be. I asked for the card machine and i could see that it wasn’t receiving any signal (WiFi) as it was flickering between no signal and 1 bar. The payment then did go through after it went up to two bars and I told her it’s not wasn’t getting a clear signal and she was still blaming it on us, like she was implying that we were trying to avoid payment and she came across as accusing. As we were leaving she kept saying “it’s worked with everyone else” and she caused a scene instead of being professional and having some understanding that it was the card machine that was wasn’t working at that moment. She ignored and laughed in our faces as we were leaving and we spoke to the bar staff lady who actually apologised on her behalf and she actually looked fed up of her and embarrassed. The food was average and very over priced. Would never go again! If you want authentic Italian food, this is not the place. They also charged me for a service charge which is completely wrong as that’s the worst service I’ve ever had. I’ve never seen someone try to embarrass their customers because they don’t underhand when a card machine doesn’t work when it doesn’t...
Read moreThis was our second visit to Ferraris since the undertaking of the new owners, Indie front of house was fantastic on our Ist visit and really lived up to the standards that the previous guys had worked hard to achieve and sustained for many years. Unfortunately the 2nd experience was awful , firstly we asked to move tables as we were put between 2 bigger groups as a couple this wasn't very comfortable however it was accomodated. We were served by Keleigh who we found very abrupt, should I dare to say rude and a young girl who was taught how to open a bottle of wine in front of us I do not think this is appropriate, training should be done before service, we didn't say anything at the time as we promote young people learning however there is a time for this to be done and the poor girl looked very awkward. We proceeded to order our food understanding that we had ordered 2 pasta starters and garlic bread 2 main courses with a side of vegetables to share. After the pasta course another waitress asked if we would like a dessert menu which seemed odd so given that our mains had not been started we decided to cut our losses pay and leave. I have queried the price of nearly £100 with the restaurant and been advised that they added a 10% service charge to the bill is really cheeky when the service was terrible, I hope that they use my money to improve the service they provide. We will not be going back. It is such a shame, after all the years we have had lovely evenings there but this was...
Read moreTITLE: Good tasty food without being overpowering. Found staff abrupt / hassling. DETAILS: Sat down at table, studied printed menu. About to get up to look at specials blackboard at other end of room when approached by a waiter who reeled off the 10+ board items and described the ingredients to me. (Think the waiters pride themselves on remembering all the different dishes, but it did come across as a bit of an old school master lecture.) Then he stood there and immediately looked away expecting me to make my choices right away. The starter came - nice and hot garlic bread - but the main came before I consumed the bread. The waiter whipped away the plate the starter was on before I had finished eating the starter and replaced it with my main course. After the sweet - tiramisù (recommendable!) - and paying the bill I was told I wouldn’t get a receipt as I paid contactless. Asked another waitress for a hand written one saying “paid with thanks” or similar and the original waiter came back, raising his voice, arguing that the invoice was the receipt. AN INVOICE IS NOT A RECEIPT UNTIL IT’S MARKED AS SUCH - until then it’s just an invoice. Ok, they may be trying to live up to their fast “Ferrari” name, but not at the expense of...
