When I reported it to the security staff and directed them to the individual they didn't like the way I pushed through the crowd to identify the person who had thrown my sunglasses. I believe the security guy was racist because he didn't even want to take the woman who assaulted me away from the dance floor. Instead of listening to me and talking to the woman who had taken my sunglasses, the security man decided to shuffle me away and eventually out of the venue! Outside he explicitly told me that he didn't want to help me because he didn't see what he could do even though I had identified the individual who had taken my sunglasses. I could've easily taken action myself as a grown man but even though it was gone just after 2am, I avoided taking action myself and identified the individual. But the staff let me let down and I'm now extremely disappointed and feel like taking serious action!!! I will give the venue a chance to respond and resolve my complaint before...

Awful service on security! I have been an attender of Bar and Beyond for a year and a half now, and being in my local town centre it has always been convenient for myself.

However, the security and bouncers within the place need a good solid look at themselves and a re-evaluation by the manager there (although the manager seems comfortable to maintain staff that aren’t adequate or up to the job whatsoever from my viewpoint) I was kicked out of Bar and Beyond Chelmsford for opening a toilet door “too harshly” and the bouncer on the other side of the door was in no doubt sure to kick me out and ensure all door staff wouldn’t let me in.

This is frankly appalling from a customer / guest perspective of the club itself, considering I have always been in there every other weekend almost. It may also be worth considering that I have visited multiple clubs in London, from east to central to west, all ranging from good to bad, and I can honestly say I have never been genuinely appalled by any security staff / bouncer service until tonight, in my own town centre.

If I were reading this, I would take a good consideration as to other clubs within the Chelmsford area that offer an equally as good night inside but with a much more friendly, acceptable set of security staff on the door that still do their job.

I hope that people reading this consider this as worthwhile, and also that the staff currently working at Bar and Beyond can really, truly validate a reason as to why I was kicked out and why they are allowing people to remain in their club boundaries who are mortally drunk and vomiting everywhere, as well as causing violence within the club itself.

My experience at Bar and Beyond was extremely disappointing yet AGAIN. The security staff—aside from one person, Andy—were rude, unprofessional, and appeared completely unfit for their roles. The atmosphere in the club was one of the worst I’ve ever experienced, and it’s hard to ignore the clear pattern of my non-white friends being unfairly targeted by security. This treatment is unacceptable and raises serious concerns.

On my last visit, one bartender tried to start a fight with a customer and had to be restrained by a coworker. When security showed up, they openly admitted they had no idea what was happening, yet still chose to kick people out with no explanation. Rather than simply communicating policies, such as limits on rounds, they resorted to throwing people out.

Another time at Bar and Beyond, I saw someone get thrown out and forcefully pushed to the floor by the bouncers. While I understand the need to remove overly intoxicated people, the aggression shown here was completely over the top and I’ve never seen aggression like this from any other bouncers at other clubs. I’ve seen multiple instances where six security guards swarmed a single person, dragging them off the dance floor in a way that felt more like an assault than crowd control. Even when moving through the crowd, security shoves and pushes everyone in their path—male or female—with zero respect.

For an establishment that relies on its customers, Bar and Beyond needs to take a hard look at their hiring and training practices. Employing aggressive and biased staff not only damages their reputation but creates an environment that’s anything...
