I first visited Toast some weeks ago and quite enjoyed the experience. The food was good as was the service although the cafe itself was a touch smokey from the food.

Today I popped in again although just for a drink on this occasion. There was a chap who had already been served who was attempting to pay with points accumulated on his Toast account but they wouldn't work. The only other staff member present at that time was preparing a drink for another customer but then joined in with the points puzzle. She then went to fetch another staff member from the back office to make a grand total of three people dealing with one customer. In the meantime, the two customers standing behind me both left without being served but I thought I'd give it a bit more time. There had been no acknowledgement of my presence at that point. Then came my turn... to leave without being served. I don't mind waiting but being ignored... Na.

The Cappacino, Americano, Latte and the Sun Pat Peanut Butter Milkshake are all nice. My wife said it was 'one of the best coffees I've had out, in ages'. I rate the milkshake highly too. If you like crunchy bits, you'll have to find a GBK who do it perfectly otherwise, this was a top notch smooth one. I had read reviews saying the Bacon and Three Cheese Toastie was a favourite. It was nice but the Three Cheese, Mushroom and Truffle Toastie and the Cheese and Onion Toastie were amazing. Sourdough will cost extra but I would consider it again. A chilled and relaxed vibe on a Thursday lunch time. A nice touch was provision of complimentary sanitary products in the unisex toilet. Well figured out and a nice difference...
