Worse experience ever!!! Sat at the table for more than 10 minutes but we were just being left behind, customer at the next table come after us but they were being served first and we were just kept sitting and being ignored. They did not even give us the menu but at the same time the next table came after us already had their order taken. We then tried to approach the waitress but what we have got back was a impatient reply. You are totally aware that you have left us behind for long!! I underatand you MAYBE busy at around 2pm while everyone had already finished their lunch and most of them already left the shop. Whatsoever, this is not an excuse to leave someone behind and choose to serve someone else who come afterward. Absolutely worst service I ever had in my life. I walked out and I will never come back again.

I believe I had made such a wise decision, we then went to another cafe next to a canel, 50m away, food are okay, and the most important is the services is 1000 times better than Kings Coffee House. I really looking for a day the management get changed, then that maybe the times we coming back. Best of Luck King...

I had a horrible racist experience with the staff and management of this coffee shop many years ago, the food was very oily, the hygiene was also very bad at that time and it reeked of smoke or burning and haven't been back since. I understand the management has changed a lot since but can't bring myself to go there again. I think it was to do with it trying to have the image of a traditional English place with traditional English fare. Well guess what, it's 2020 and the face of the CITY of Chelmsford is multicultural and multiracial, not to mention their location is actually pretty close to the mosque - notice that no one from the mosque ever goes there though. The faded 1970s external decor does not really inspire new confidence in improved hygiene and maintenance. Even though it may have improved since, and the other reviews say the management is much better now, I feel I should share this awful and depressing experience in order that our readers can have an all round view of this...
