Nando's Chelmsford — Restaurant in Chelmsford

Really bad experience! First server was rolling his eyes on us as we wanted to change tables. He put us on a table next to the kitchen where staff was going in and out constantly although there were many other empty tables. Then there was a lot of confusion while ordering at the bar. Eventually they sent the wrong dish. They never brought the drinks, we had toask twice for it. Then when i asked to speak to a manager we had to wait for a while for someone to come. A manager came and promised she was going to fully refund us but the only way to do so was through a form. She went to her office to fill in the form then another manager came. Her name was Laura. She decided to speak to us while we were trying to eat which was not professional at all and i mentioned it to her. She informed us she couldn't fully refund us, she could only refund us for the drinks. She gave us an email address to write to. Both managers seemed confused and really added negative vibe to our already bad experience. I will be sending an email and i will be insisting on getting a full refund. I’ve never been to a place like this before, its a joke. We came for a peaceful meal and we ended up hating our evening. Then to top it up, the same server who was rolling his eyes on us came to apologise while we were still eating. At least he tried. They were just keep coming. We are never going back. Awful, awful! Had guests round and they fancied a delivery so thought they would give Nando's a go. Ordered a delivery through Deliveroo and after waiting around an hour the food finally arrived. Unfortunately, the delivery bag did not contain one thing we had ordered, just a burger and 2 small sides. On calling Nando's the response was, "bloody driver", however, it was NOT the drivers fault, but Nando's kitchen staff, they had used the correct order labels but put them on the wrong bag.. I was then told that the correct order would be sent out. After 50 mins with no sign of food and guests fed up waiting, they were due to leave as they had a 5 hour journey home, I called Nando's back to cancel order and request a refund. I was told that refunds were nothing to do with Nando's, and had to be requested with Deliveroo, ( despite the fact Nando's were at fault ). 10 mins later food arrived but they had STILL managed to get the redelivery wrong ! Ordered large size sides, received small and other items missing. Very expensive overpriced food. First and LAST experience with Nando's !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I could give Zero stars I would. Review...

I recently visited Nando's, and it was an outstanding experience! The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, with a fun, casual vibe that made it perfect for dining out with friends or family.

Food: The star of the show was, of course, the Peri-Peri chicken. I opted for the half chicken with medium spice, and it was cooked to perfection—juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor. The heat was just right, and the accompanying sides of spicy rice and garlic bread complemented the meal beautifully. Their famous peri-tatas (fries) were crispy and addictive!

Service: The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing. Our food arrived promptly, and they checked in regularly to ensure we were enjoying our meal.

Value: I found the prices to be very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. Plus, the option to customize spice levels is a great touch, catering to all taste preferences.

Overall: Nando's is a must-visit for any chicken lover or anyone looking for a flavorful meal. I left feeling satisfied and excited to return....
