If you want a Wacco experience
You have found it ……
Nestled in an industrial estate near Cheltenham railway station
As the business occupants leave their offices and warehouses for the day, the general public steadily repopulate the area to begin their post work liquid intake
I suppose you could describe it as industrial drinking (in the nicest sense) in a sparse ‘warehouse’ environment with refectory tables and benches lining the drinking dormitory, and not a forklift or pallet truck in sight.
The stainless steel brewing vessels dominate the open space like the 1955 British ‘Blue Streak’ liquid fuelled missile, but the good news is you can safely drink the contents of the these metallic silver DAYA rockets
Early doors is very busy, if you want a quiet drink this place is not for you, however if you stay you must be be prepared to project your voice among the guests like an enthusiastic budding thespian.
Queues are short, service quick, and the Beer List long. Thank goodness there is no ‘cocktail mixing’ in this establishment as there is nothing worse than being stuck in a ‘cocktail queue’ when all you want is a beer
‘Infared’ ceiling heaters hit the spot, but wrap up warm just in case during the colder months
Parking can be confusing and a bit of a challenge, so either walk or get a lift, because when you find a beer you like, you will be drinking more than two pints
After the noisy 5 o’ clockers, things start to mellow, it then picks up later on in the evening
I witnessed a human conveyor belt of people exiting the building carrying their beer laden cardboard trays, some guests even sit back down and breakout a few cans before proudly departing the building with their remaining weekend stash
Dogs welcome and treats available at the bar (dogs only please)
Guest ‘Street Food’ vendors park outside and offer hungry drinkers something different on a regular basis
All in all a refreshing experience, well done to...
Read moreA superb brewery bar hidden on an industrial estate. It's worth the walk from Cheltenham railway station (about 5 minutes away). It's a little tricky to find as you have to walk past all the industrial units to find the bar. Once you arrive, you will see the huge DEYA sign in an outdoor area with plenty of bench seating, a small outdoor bar and fresh pizzas cooked on site. Inside the brewery bar is a large open space with rows of bench seating and tables. The brewing equipment is visible, which makes a nice backdrop to your experience. The bar appears to offer all the range offered by DEYA with clear signage of the drinks/ price and strength. In addition to the hand pulled keg beers, there are cans available to take. There is even a small area selling branded merchandise and a few...
