Hub Box Cheltenham — Restaurant in Cheltenham

First off, this restaurant is easy to get to by bus, car, walking… very easy! It’s located in the popular dining and entertainment quarter of Cheltham; The Brewery. My husband and I were a little late due to traffic but called ahead of time to let the restaurant know and they were fine with it. Very friendly staff ready and waiting to take orders, even though/if we weren’t ready they’d come back at a really reasonable time! (As it was busy we were surprised we weren’t forgotten!). The atmosphere was buzzing, could feel the positive vibes from customers and staff, it was welcoming! The staff were always checking up on how things were with the meal and when they took the order from us, they double checked everything was correct before leaving.

The food. The food smelt amazing. I had a vegan meal as I’m dairy intolerant and I wanted to play it safe for a first time of experiencing the dishes and restaurant. It was delicious! They have quite a decent amount of vegan selection and the Normal main menu looked really good too! To be honest it was hard to choose, all of them sounded appealing. I would say all the items on the menu were reasonably priced! You’re getting what you’re paying for! Had a few cocktails (picture hopefully attached) as well . that were full of flavour and goes well with the meal.

The only down side I would say for me personally is… the day we went the music was slightly too loud so I couldn’t hear my partner so clearly (I’m visually impaired so reading his lips was a no go). But that’s my personal little “meh” of the restaurant. Otherwise it was totally awesome, delicious and very welcoming. I would and do recommend this restaurant to friends/family, I also look forward to trying other things...

Dragged here by a friend i was visiting, it was just up my street as I'm a connoisseur of this sort of food by now. Service was non stop friendly but our initial waitress bummed our order so I ended up with doubles of the wrong item and we nearly ended up with an extra surplus main, all round though, staff and management were visible, present and attentive, but most importantly, very friendly. But the food was glorious. This is the best fried chicken I've had in a chain anywhere, he chicken was moist but firm, the batter was light, crispy and dry, nothing was soggy with oil. There's something extra going on in that batter, almost has a "frazzles" flavour profile. I got the wrong dressing but it was a revelation in terms of chicken. The burger (think I had an all star) came pink as standard, full marks, it was perfect, the dressings were balanced and it tasted superb, everything that should be there was there. I often say the chain 7bone do the best burger I've had in the uk since the 80s, I've said the same about their chicken, but I have to say, hub box steal the crown, at least regarding the chicken, burger wise,they edge up just in front of flavour trailer but are just behind 7bone. The loaded fries were good, but too much sauce not enough roughage in top, the sauce makes everything cold quicker, more chunky stuff please. The venue itself is bright and lively, lots of air above your head which helps with this sort of heavy food, if its too dark, cramped or warm, claustrophobia and meatsweats await. I've walked past the Hub box a few times while in Cheltenham, it always has a steady stream of people coming and going, so we decided today was the day to go try out the food! A family of three we are !

Chloe greeted us and straight away sorted us a table and got us comfy, ordering and time taken was fantastic, I think around 10 mins as we ordered quite a bit to share and try and there were a few other families ordering too! The presentation of the burgers and different fries was exceptional, I've sampled many gourmet burgers and I'll say hands down today was the best I've had !

My son had a kids cheese burger which was so well made I thought it was a main menu burger! My wife had the Kim yum chick which she said was incredible and cooked perfectly. Our son loved his burger and skin on fries! Portions were spot on!

The atmosphere was perfect, music in the back ground perfect volume! The tables and area were spotless! Lighting is nice and warm which suits the decor nicely. Top service from Chloe and all staff in today ! To the chefs outback, keep up the standards absolutely the best meal I've had in a long time! Our son loved that the chef took a minute to say hi and let our son thank him. Normally dad makes the best burgers but not today !
