It’s a shame to leave a 1 star review as the staff here are generally very good and should be recognised for their resilience to such a challenging and difficult environment. This McDonald’s is about 3 times too small for the amount of people it serves. It’s dirty, cramped, tired and full of people you won’t like, so best to avoid, but if you’re still considering wasting your money here, please take note of the following:
Let me start with sitting in; First, there is next to no seating at anytime around dinner or lunch. It’s so small you have to shuffle around like sardines in a can before you can get to a machine to order, by which time, the only available seat is taken. The place is generally a mess with food on the floor and tables plus the bins are usually overflowing.
Click, Park, Collect: This is a lifesaver if you don’t want to enter the retched bodily secretion filled building for your food. However the downside is there’s only two bays which will almost always be taken by someone who’s sat inside. If you do manage to get a bay, you’ll be waiting for so long you might at well cook your own food.
Parking: Although there’s a massive car park outside of the McDonald’s owned property the actual dedicated 24/7 car park is abysmal. Honestly whoever designed it clearly didn’t realise that we’ve moved on beyond the 1960s Mini, not to mention most McDonald’s customers are almost the same size as the vehicle they travelled in, you would’ve thought they’d put more attention into making the bays larger. There also seems to be a “deliveroo” specific parking bay. It’s the first I’ve ever seen one, I’m not sure why it’s blue with a man in a wheel chair painted on it though…
Drive Through: Here’s a tip, order on the app first. You’ll save yourself the pain or trying to order through a microphone and speaker clearly recycled from a 1950s radio program. Also if your car is larger than an ant, it’s exceptionally tight to go round to the back or the restaurant to collect your order.
To conclude, this is a messy, cramped, tired, dirty McDonald’s in desperate need of expansion as it’s serving customers of 80,000 but is only designed for about 10,000. Honestly you’ll have a more pleasant experience bathing in cow manure than eating here, and probably less likely to catch something too.

Read moreJust got back from here. I agree since it became a franchise, it seems to have gone down hill. I appreciate our visit today was late in the evening but even so standards should be better maintained. To be fair they were very very busy, but then you would hope they would have sufficient staff to deal with it. There was rubbish all over tables and floors, a big liquid spill on the floor by entrance to kitchen which looked dangerous, no fizzy drinks or iced drinks- just milkshake and bottled drinks. The guy that delivered the meal walked away whilst I was still talking to him, asking for sauces and napkins (as the dispenser was empty). Worst of all, the staff did not seem to be working well together and getting on. They seemed to be arguing a lot and possibly the younger ones were bullying an old lady called Lilly that works there. Although she gave as good as she got when she shouted to him oh shut up. The manager was saying "come on guys" but didn't seem to be overly in control of the situation. Any how it's not relaxing sitting and eating when the staff aren't enjoying their jobs or getting on. I know this would hardly be many people's dream job but if you're going to do it then you need to do it gracefully. The situation is salvageable. More staff, more training, team building. Also whilst I appreciate the staff were very busy and stressed, the person that brought the meal to our table was quite abrupt and ignorant. Just chucked the sauces...

The staff can be awful... Now, it's not all the staff. Some of them are lovely. Such as Liv and whoever the DM is (no name tag due to the time of day). But the younger employees (specifically a female, possibly Asian ethnicity, dark hair and short) really need an attitude change. Food is always good (I only eat the chips but the family seem to enjoy). And even when there's mistakes they're always sorted quickly. Never found anything that would suggest ill hygiene. Chips can vary but when they're good they're really good. As a busy family who spend lost their time on a farm or travelling, it's something quick that we can grab while we drive through. ALTHOUGH…inside the restaurant is another thing altogether. Dirty isn’t the word. Can’t even eat your food without being attacked by winged creatures. Fruit flies, 💩 flies…you name it they got it. Even had a fly laying EGGS on the cctv camera at the back of the restaurant by the flower mural. Retrospectively, this could be a great money maker…just start charging an entrance fee cus you were running a ZOO on the 4th September. Mental. Hire someone that can...
