Very disappointing. Booked a table for 6 people at 6.30. It was very quiet when we arrived. Nobody came to take our drinks order so we ordered at the bar. Only 2 menus on the table for 6 of us. Ordered food through waitress who did not read back our order but did return 5 minutes later to check side required with lamb shank. Starters arrived, no problem but when it came to mains one meal was totally forgotten. Was offered some chips to keep me going to be told 5 minutes later that the kitchen was too busy and they couldn't give me chips. Offered a drink instead. When missing meal finally came it was only a small piece of salmon that looked like it had been chewed at one end. We were going to order desserts but no one came to a) check if everything was ok or b) if we wanted anything else. Tried to get more drinks from the bar but queue was huge. Gave up, paid the bill and left. With so many other options will not be returning or recommending The Norwood. Only positive was the attitude of one of the members of staff who was very apologetic and knocked the cost of the salmon off the bill. Sorry, we didn't get her name possible the manager. Such a shame as could be a really nice place. More staff and training required.

Went for Sunday lunch a couple of weeks ago. We were taken to our pre booked table and not long afterwards our order was taken. A few minutes after our order was taken we were advised there was a 45 minute wait for food. As we had ordered we decided to stay, but had we been advised up front we would not. After waiting for almost an hour we were advised that there was a delay as the chefs were new but that they could cook. We were offered a free drink but asked if the ones we had could be free as we did not want any more. When the food did come it was obvious that the chefs could not cook or struggled as they were new. We were not charged for our meals, which we could not eat as it was cold and congealed. What a shame we were not advised of the wait when we arrived, we would not have stayed and maybe returned another time for, hopefully, a better experience.

We had Christmas dinner here as a party of 6. The kitchen was clearly a bit overwhelmed by the volume of diners. We got our main course 90 minutes after sitting down at the table, which felt a long time with small children! (At least we had had our starters in the meantime). The Christmas decorations were lovely but we would suggest that next year, they could do with playing actual Christmas music for more atmosphere instead of the strange durgy music they were playing this year. I enjoyed my food and others in our party did too but we all agreed the parsnips and sprouts were under cooked. Staff were lovely and friendly and we left a good tip as we felt sorry them having to work on Christmas Day. We would return and give them another try next year as it was a mainly positive experience.

Had a meal with my 2 daughters on Mother’s Day afternoon at the Norwood Arms, it was after a day out and a spare of the moment decision, we called first to book a table and were pleasantly surprised they had one available being Mother’s Day and everywhere else fully booked, arrived 20 minutes later parked in their car park but because we were chatting on the way in to the pub I didn’t notice the signage to say you had to pay and wasn’t expecting to as hadn’t had to pay years before on a previous visits. We were greeted and seated with no mention of registering our car reg by the waitress. Service was prompt and good, we all had a roast dinner which was all nice apart from the cauliflower cheese, which I didn’t opt for but my daughter’s did and said it wasn’t that nice and the roast beef which I did have but was very tough and chewy and sliced too thickly, the roast potatoes were really nice and crunchy if i went again I would have the roast turkey as my daughter said that was nice. While we were eating there was a lot of banging going on from below presumably the cellar not sure if they were having a delivery or moving barrels around but it didn’t make for a very relaxing environment to have a quiet chat! But we managed to enjoy ourselves despite this. Couple of weeks later I received a fine in the post of £100 for parking at the pub and not paying or entering my reg, as I hadn’t realised you had to as I’ve already said I was shocked and extremely upset by this, so called to pub and spoke to Fleur the Deputy manager who was very helpful friendly and understanding after I explained the situation and she emailed the parking company and got the fine cancelled for me, so I would just like to thank her for her help and warn anyone else that uses the Norwood arms pub car park to make sure you have paid or put your registration number in at the pub to save yourself a lot of hassle...

Came here for the first time for drinks and dinner; not only was the card machine not working but the bar staff (who were training a new starter at the time) told us that it was our banks that were the problem and that there was no problem with the machine despite the obvious repeated errors happening, we ordered food anyway and decided to use our change on the gambling machines whilst we wait; we put £10 into both machines only to have one of them swallow one of the notes in it's entirety without displaying any credit, we reported accordingly to staff who informed us that there was nothing they could do on their part and that we were to give our details for future cashback. Unfortunately the bar staff did not have an official logbook for this and just asked us to write our number on a scrap piece of paper stating that they'll "give us a ring" when they get the machine sorted? Our food arrived and what was advertised originally as "buttered mash" was obviously just a freezer pack that they had quickly reheated as it was not only cold but also completely stale. The bar staff were not only rude but completely un-reassuring with every unfortunate incident that occured in the space of an hour; not admitting guilt nor apologise for the entire...
