The White Horse — Restaurant in Cherwell District

My wife and I were staying locally and went looking for a pub where we could sit outside. We found this pub, which had a very welcoming information board outside, in Banbury's North Bar area. On entering we were supervised as we logged into the pub through the NHS App, which made us feel that our welfare and that of their staff was a serious consideration endearing us already to being there. We asked for outdoor seating and were shown through to the courtyard where we found a very pleasant partly covered seating area with individual booths for up to four customers in each booth; we thought it was excellently thought out. The waitress was very friendly, helpful, and made us feel very welcome, as did the locals that were sat in the next booth. We enjoyed being there so much that we stayed way beyond the time that we had alloted. Should we ever find ourselves in Banbury again we'd definitely visit this well-run pub, and perhaps next time try out the food...

Went in for dinner with my partner this evening and was so amazed with the service we received. Really welcoming and attentive staff did our temperatures and TNT efficiently, we sat down, got drinks and ordered food. Such a lovely atmosphere, chatty staff, Christmas music and cosy furniture and decorations. The food was absolutely delicious with a great choice on the menu too. And the most unexpected highlight for me was the ladies bathroom! All the fab post-its on the wall with everyone's stories, felt it was so heart warming! Particular shout out to.our server, who I think was called Lou (that's what we heard staff calling her anyway)? Really lovely lady, really attentive to us and super friendly :) amazing...

We held a charity quiz night here in February 2018 and Ilene & Ken were more than happy to help us, right from the initial enquiry, up until we all left after the quiz! We had a curry and chilli buffet with loads of extras and profiteroles and chocolate brownies for pudding. The food and service was absolutely spot and everyone in the party was well fed and happy at the end of the night. So reasonably priced too. Thanks to all the staff at The White Horse for helping us create a perfect charity...
