Read moreHad my first ever experience of here last night, a Saturday night. Not one for going out loads as I do suffer some anxiety. Anyway about 5mins after arriving, asked a make ds for directions to the male toilets as I swear really badly. I then went into the male toilets and into a cubicle, locked the door & used paper to wipe my face down. All a sudden within one min of entering the cubicle, I had a knock at the door, please open up, it was a female ds! Saying they wanted to do a random search of me! Before I could open the cubicle door, they unlocked it in a instant from the other side, luckily I wasn't taking a number 2. Anyway I got my possessions out to slow them, of course nothing, I'm no drug taking scum. What an embarrassment. This just ruined my early night! But why did a female ds enter a male toilets in use by other customers at the time? She had I think 2 male colleagues with her & possibly a customer that was paranoid & must of reported me, all because I had a really sweaty face! It's not like they were short on male ds's that night, must of been around 7 on duty,. Anyway maybe 20mins after this I reported it to the young male manager on duty that night, but he didn't want to hear my concerns. Guess this is what you get with big chain pubs & pt ds/door supervisors working, alot of them who are more than likely new to...
Read moreIt being a bank Holiday on the day of our visit, we were expecting the city to be busy. Our assumptions were correct. All open areas within the city were paraded with classic cars. Even Elvet and Framwellgate Bridges were adorned with a variety of classic car makes. MG, Jaguar, Ford and even a notable Alvis were in attendance. The eateries around the city were overflowing. We ventured round to Walkergate passing St Cuthbert's sculpture. Nice to see history and modern architecture side by side. The Bishop's Mill is tucked away in a corner of Walkergate. It doesn't look very large from the outside. What a surprise when you go down the stairs and enter the building properly. It is massive. We soon found a seat and very quickly decided what we wanted. Remembering our table number, I ordered at the bar. As usual the meals are always keenly priced, as is the Wetherspoon way. Our drinks were prepared at the bar. It wasn't very long before the meals were delivered to our table. The staff were very friendly and attentive to our sauce needs. The meals were very tasty indeed. Being suitably refreshed we continued with our visit. This was after a visit to the Restroom. The Restroom was equally massive and on the same floor. It was very clean also. We know where to visit for food on our next visit. Nice one The...
