I tried the Tasting Menu at the beautiful Bonnars at The Scott, Pollock Halls in Edinburgh. The tasting menu at Bonnar's is a fantastic choice for the adventurous foodie, particularly for those who have a deep appreciation for the featured ingredients. It presents a culinary journey filled with bold flavours and unique textures, offering diners the opportunity to experience dishes that might be delightfully unfamiliar. The seasonal changes to the menu are another highlight, ensuring that the freshest ingredients are showcased and providing returning guests with something new to discover each time. While its creative approach is one of its greatest strengths, the menu might be most suited to diners who enjoy stepping out of their comfort zones. The service here strikes a perfect balance between warmth and discretion. The staff are approachable and eager to discuss the menu, offering thoughtful recommendations for both food and drink pairings. Dishes were served promptly, and empty plates were cleared efficiently, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable...
Read moreWe visited Bonnar's at The Scott for a special occasion, and the entire experience was truly unforgettable. The building itself is stunning, and the 18th-century dining room, with its impressive ceiling and timeless elegance, created a setting that felt like stepping back in time.
We chose the tasting menu, which was exceptional in both flavour and presentation, and at a very reasonable price. Every dish was beautifully crafted, rich with flavour, and clearly prepared with great care and creativity. Learning that the Head Chef had trained at Noma made the experience even more surreal, we felt lucky to enjoy a menu created by such a talented culinary artist.
The service was impeccable. The staff were attentive, thoughtful, and made our celebration feel even more special.
Overall, it was a memorable dining experience, both for the food and the atmosphere, and we would highly recommend Bonnar’s for any occasion that deserves something...
