My brother and I ordered a large amount of food, choosing an evening in rather than an expensive restaurant - however, the food still came to £50. It took over 90 minutes for the food to be delivered, and it was only once we came inside that we realised a lot of the food in the order was missing.

My curry tasted like cauliflower cheese and there were several nondescript pots of red miscellaneous items which we did not order that seemed to come in place of our food. My brother’s korma was passable, but he then claimed he had “never experienced the meat sweats from a vegetarian curry” before. The accompanying sundries: samosas, pakoras, bhajis etc were varying quality from middling to bad, but really my greatest frustration (apart from the doughy naan) was that we did not receive our full order, and the food that did arrive has mainly been left uneaten, including a highly dubious vegetable pasanda. Thoroughly disappointed. Been using Noor for over a year now after painstaking trying many many Indian restaurants across Edinburgh.

However this will be the last time we order. I don’t know if the chef has changed but the food is not up to the previous standards. As a regular order of the Dahl makini we noticed the quality and flavour was not as good the previous. We just put it down to being a rouge meal and maybe the chef had an off day. Sad because this was our favourite Indian and have spent a lot of money with them over the years. Called them after 90 minutes had passed and were told they were busy and it’d be another 25 minutes. Annoying but ok fine, it’s Saturday night. Phoned again when the food still wasn’t here after another hour, and were told 5 more minutes. 30 minutes later we finally got it, a full 3 hours since placing the order, minus the rice. I phoned to say the rice was missing and was told it would be a 45 minute wait or we could have the cost deducted from our next order. When I said we didn’t want to wait, having already waited 3 hours, nor order from them again, I got attitude. Understand Saturdays are busy but good customer service can make all the difference.
