I stumbled across this cafe after a twitter post from a friend who blogs on lunches. My senses picked up two words: black pudding and home made sausages. A friendly twitter hello, a little more snooping and I was sold on their all day breakfast. It's a bane of mine that many places in Edinburgh rip the breakfast cloth away from you and begin serving lunch at 12. My body clock doesn't get going for breakfast until lunch so I'm always delighted to find a new brunch place. I went along with a couple of friends and we ordered 3 breakfasts. Now i'm just a tiny thing, but the boys are huge and I was a little disappointed at the breakfast size. Served up all looking delicious and I have to say small! Bearing in mind it was priced at less than £5 and all home made, i didn't feel cheated. Naturally, for me, it was a case of eyes bigger than belly and I off loaded most of mine to my friends. The sausages are out of this word, aww man i'm dreaming of them. I wasn't sold on the black pudding, but then I am notorious fussy there, definitely better than most places i've had it. I'll be making another visit, drawn by the opening timings, location and food! The burgers...

Had breakfast here with my partner and brother this morning. I heard about this place from a friend who was raving about their home made sausages. He was right they are great.
We each had the all day breakfast which included two slices of bacon, three sausages, beans, fried egg, black pudding, potato bread and a roll. For 4.25 that is a great deal so close to the city centre.
You can eat outside at one of the tables on the pavement and if you turn up before 11 you can have the sun on your face and enjoy a nice view of Authers Seat across the road.
The staff are very pleasant and its a friendly but not intrusive atmosphere. A great place to have breakfast and considering the ingredients are home made its excellent value for money.
The only issue is the lack of a washroom or toilet. This won't bother people only picking up a take away but might be an issue for those with small children...

Was here for breakfast solo. Seating is limited and there is a 20% additional charge that is clearly stated on the boards.
Tried their vegan all day breakfast. The elements were nice and apparently they make their own sausages. Unfortunately, one of the sausages I got had a small piece of clear, sharp hard plastic stuck inside. When presented this to the staff at the counter, she seem to have mistaken it as the clear skin on the sausages. When I tried prompting her it wasn't something that should be in the food, she proceeded to throw away what was presented to her out of courtesy.
Given the way the situation went it feels like this may not be the first time this has happened - either they know about a problem in the production process, or far too many people have asked about the clear skin (but really??????).
Cleanliness is average. Expect crumbs on tables, but that's pretty normal...
