Great wee cafe. The owner was very friendly and hospitable. Big smiles. They are clearly a popular cafe with plenty customers seeking breakfast and coffee on a Sunday. Their coffee is very good indeed. They have a good selection of bakery and breakfast options. All customers seemed to have enjoyed it. The cafe has a relaxed and cozy feel to it. There aren't many seating places though. Even when it was busy, I was not rushed or hurried; most certainly the staff kept their tried approach. Highly recommended for a casual breakfast on a lazy morning.

Friendly lady, wonderful little cafe. The sandwiches are among the best in Edinburgh. She does not just stuff a roll with cheap ingredients and toast it far too crispy, but instead uses high quality ingredients that work together beautifully. The cafe is as good as it gets. On top of that they also have some delicious sweets. This is my go to breakfast spot in the area but also worth a detour when you are nearby or in town. The Canonmills area is rocking with good spots at the moment anyway! Give it a shot, you don't want to miss this one!

Second time I try the place and it's lovely bot for take away or sit-in. We order this time a large soup (Aspargarus was the soup of the day) and the classic Spanish omelette. The soup was very good and a really big portion. The Spanish omelette is a cute individual omelette, but it is a massive portion! You can add salad and bread for only 0.75p more, it's a bargain! And if you have some Spanish homesick, it's a good place to have some home food. I will try the next time the empanadas!

Quite a disappointment unfortunately... but let me tell you the details.

I went to this place twice. First we arrived with my partner on a Saturday. The lady said to us that we can sit down, decide, so after that she takes the order. I am completely sure it was this way, as after us some other groups arrived and she took their order at the table as well. Anyway, we ordered Scottish breakfast, and while there were some shortcomings (for e.g. the haggis was not that good and the tomato proved to be too watery), all-in-all it was still a nice breakfast. I'd especially highlight the price, which is really honest in comparison with other places. Service was nice as well, good coffee too.

Second time I arrived to the place on another Sunday. It was basically empty [nobody sitting at the tables], there were however a few orders for take away. I waited there for around 15-20 minutes, and although both staff members looked at me several times, they did not tell me anything at all, while they were even talking about me between themselves . After some time I was just waiting there to check how they react to a situation like this. Let me be clear: I honestly do not care whether I have to make the order at the counter or at the table, it does not change anything. However, I feel that the way customers are treated is important, so I was really disappointed that after 20 minutes of waiting she basically scolded me for not ordering at the counter [even though 2 weeks ago she took the order at the table] instead of trying to be kind, take my order and resolve the situation in an amicable way. I felt disappointed too see that around 5 customers arriving after are handled before me, and they did not even try to tell me in a simple way ''sorry, you have to order at...

I had intended to review this cafe for ages, because it's such a hidden gem. Although the name doesn't suggest it, this cafe actually serves some really authentic & amazing Spanish dishes. They do the most incredible Spanish omlette (tortilla) and gazpacho, in addition to the usual selection of sandwiches, wraps, soups, salads and cooked breakfasts. Honestly, the chorizo tortilla I had was even better than those I tasted in Spain. I cannot reccomend it enough. It's in a really cool area of the city and I think it's worth making a special trip here just to try what they have to offer. They do serve different kinds of Spanish tortillas, including vegetarian and chorizo. It looks really unassuming from the outside but you have to try this place to believe...

During my stay in Edinburgh I stopped by this blissful cafe every morning, and considering that I'm a vegetarian (subtly vegan too), there was always a plethora of foods and drink I could have in the morning and lunch time. It was a thirty second walk from my accommodations too so that was twice as convenient! Lunch sandwiches were also just astounding. Whenever I walked in I was always greeted with the warmest smiles from the lovely ladies working there, so that definitely started my days off to a happy and positive start. Crumbs Cafe was most definitely one of the greatest highlights of my time in Edinburgh!!! P.S. tea and coffee was...
