We stumbled upon Hata during a visit to Edinburgh in 2021, and it's become our local haunt since moving back to the city. We’re definitely enjoying having it practically on our doorstep.
Why Hata? Well, for starters, they've nailed the coffee game. It's consistently top-notch, and their spread of treats is a little feast for the eyes and the belly. (Fair warning: the caramel tart is highly addictive.) 🙂 There's always a variety of GF/DF goodies, and they also provide a selection of delicious lunch options. (The downstairs space is great for the latter.) What really makes it our favourite café, though, is the team. The baristas are always friendly and up for a wee chat, no matter what time of day you pop in.

There's a shelf with some items for sale too including coffee, bamboo products, mugs etc. The staff were friendly and attentative and added to the...
