Masti Indian Restaurant Dundee Terrace — Restaurant in City of Edinburgh

Ordered 4 meals on Saturday eve ref Order #5342 with Deliveroo (4 mains, 3 rice, 2 naan, 1 chicken Pakora 4 poppadom) costing a pretty expensive £75 inc delivery. Had read good reviews and been recommended so thought I would try Masti. Food came in good time, and others said their mains were very good, but my lamb patia was pretty poor. £11.95 for a pile of sauce which tasted nice, but only had maybe 6 very small pieces of lamb. Chicken pakora portion although tasty, was disappointingly small also. Called Morningside to be told only Dundee Terrace do deliveries, only to call Dundee Terrace to be told deliveries come from Morningside. Both calls, a manager would call back. Never did. Service good food 🥲🤐: It is a good start but what makes a resturant great is the quality of food and service. The reason masti is good because of service and hence two star for service and one star for food. Like many high street so called authentic indian resturant Mastis food have not authenticity. The food have a high use of a spice that was giving metal flavour in the mouth. It was also desired that one can identify the food with the description on the menue. For example Dum buryiani should taste like a buryani rather then a pulao made in desi ghee. Great Indian food (halal!) and great service overall. Waiter and waitress were both very helpful, but our main server was the guy and he was on top of it 👏 we ordered the papadum which came with four pickle dishes (especially loved the mango chutney). Afterwards we ordered the tadka daal with some plain nan. The bread was very soft and the daal was perfectly spiced. We then ordered chicken kali mirch and pilau rice, which were also delicious. As for the place itself, it had a pretty calm atmosphere and it was pretty clean. I especially appreciate the chair height to table ratio 😂 great service overall...
