Nando's Edinburgh - Fort Kinnaird — Restaurant in City of Edinburgh

This is not the first time we have meal here. But feeling very disappointed and dissatisfied with the service provided this time.

I ordered take away in the restaurant. When I opened the bag upon arriving home, I found that one burger was missing. I called the restaurant, the staff taken up the call kept saying he was confident that the burger had been put inside the bag and then he told us he would check the CCTV and then the call ended immediately.

I needed to take the whole bag of food and drove 15 mins from home to the restaurant again. Once I arrived at the restaurant, I asked if he had checked CCTV yet, he said no but he told me that he asked his colleague and was told the burger was surely prepared and put inside the bag. I said that I didn’t mind to stay until he finished checking the CCTV and he ended up asking me if I wanted to have the burger re-cook. Finally he gave me back a burger but I needed to drive another 15 mins back to home, all the food taken previously was not warm already.

We had a cheeky Monday night Nando's and it was ok, restaurant is well situated amongs other food options and parking is plentiful, the actual restaurant itself feels a little run down but generally it has a nice interior and fells looks clean and comfortable, the food we had was ok but nothing special, my Sunset burger was the high point if not a little lacking compared to photo on the menu but over all the flavours were good, we also had the limited addition loaded sharer fries with chicken and cheese on top, they were very tasty as far as loaded fries go but to pay £8 for the amount we got was a bit frustrating, we also ordered butterfly chicken breast which I'm afraid to say was cooked within an inch of its life and subsequently was very dry when eating, this was accompanied by some sides of spicy rice and rainbow slaw both of which were ok but a bit bland.

Overall we had a nice meal despite the very dry chicken breast. With Nando's specialising in chicken I'd expect better.

When I first went to a Nandos, it was more of a recommendation, the idea that Nandos has a good reputation. After several visits here I can definitely say it lived up to if not exceeded my expectations. The chicken is much more than average, it has a grilled taste that is hard to match. The peri-salted chips have a seasoning to them that you just can't stop covering the chips in. And the garlic bread is the best I've tasted, a mix of quality bread but the right flavour of garlic. Also, you can spice it up (probably what most people know Nandos for) but if you're not a person who likes spice, you can just have no spice. On the other hand they offer a variety of sauces and spices from a little kick to sauces so spicy only few can handle. The service was good, but nothing special.
