Visited this Saturday at about 3.30-4pm and it was definitely not busy period because the tables were half full and it was mid-afternoon. There are signs everywhere saying take a seat if you want 'table service'...................................That's normal and we then walked past several staff, some who weren't even serving anyone, no eye contact, etc. That's fine. We chose a table in the back corner (still with an old coffee cup and cake plates from the previous person who used the table) because it looked quieter and literally SAT THERE FOR 25-30mins. Spent the latter half of it trying to get anyone's attention for a menu and wave someone down but no eye contact was to be made by the staff as they walked to and fro from the staffroom area about 10x. Felt absolutely invisible. It was a good rest for our legs after walking most of the weekend being tourists and all, but I wouldn't recommend it if you want something fast....Or if you want table service at all. Disappointing experience after reading...

I ordered a flat white with oat milk, which the person who took my order emphasised when repeating it back to me, though was given a flat white with regular milk. This was not a big problem but I was disappointed with the attitudes of the member of staff I spoke to, who contested that it was in fact made with oat milk, to which I had to insist it was not (I have recently had other baristas make this mistake twice in the last 2 weeks and have not had cow milk for over 12 years). She agreed to remake it though was clearly annoyed.

This was disappointing, though fortunately the second coffee was very nice and certainly the best one I’ve had in Edinburgh so far, in my...

The best cafe in Stockbridge! Stopped in for lunch and cake recently and thoroughly enjoyed the food and fun atmosphere in Patisserie Florentin. There's a great selection of cakes and sweet treats. We had lemon and fruit tart which were delicious. I had a savoury vegetarian croissant which was amazing. Coffee is delicious. There's a fun vibe to this cafe and staff were so accommodating and friendly. Family and dog friendly. I observed staff giving a dog a treat and some water. Definitely pop in here next time you're in Edinburgh. Thanks William, Nicola, Barnaby, Jo and Sunny for a...

Dropped in for brunch with many many many other cafes to choose in the area. Special of the day Bagel was great albeit a bit greasy for perfection, morning rolls were solid and eggs on toast were fine (pretty hard to mess these up). Coffees were fine also (Cappuccino and Latte). All in all, a good brunch place on the more expensive side (total was £38- we had to double look). Would I return? Probably not, but I would say you get a decent experience without setting the world on fire

Absolutely excellent. The pastries and cooked breakfasts were all top drawer. Lovely atmosphere. And I was a little bit in love with one of the servers. Update: I went back the following day having forgotten about the above and was horribly embarrassed when it dawned on me that they’d read it and clocked it was me! Haha! Another lovely breakfast only slightly tarnished by the merciless piss taking from my travelling companions. Stand by the assessment though.

We were walking past and got attracted by the vintage exterior so we decided to pop in. The interior is just as enchanting, the pastries looked amazing and the staff was super helpful and guided us to a table. We were served promptly. The apricot danish was so delicious and the hot chocolate was silky smooth. The decor definitely adds to the atmosphere. Cannot wait to come back to Edinburgh and bring more people here!
