This place is AMAZING. Seriously can't recommend it enough. I stumbled upon this restaurant while I was walking around and found this place on google maps. Decided to go for it since we were already around the area and wouldn't want to walk all the way again. GLAD we did. There wasn't much written about it but I was still very excited. A vegetarian and vegan restaurant. Serving italian food oh my lord. I scanned through the menu. I knew that I should always have low expectations to avoid disappointments but boy, I was shivering with excitement from learning about all of the choices I had. My mom wasn't so fond of vegan food so she wasn't interested in ordering.. I ordered the Cesare Pizza and Lasagne. Both VEGAN. We had to wait a little but when the dishes came... oh my, they looked BEAUTIFUL. Even my mom was pleasantly surprised. The pizza was a generous portion size and huge for someone coming from SE Asia. I was expecting a small lasagna but nope, it was a good size as well! Pizza was 9£ and lasagna 8 if I'm not mistaken. They were honestly so SO GOOD!!! Even my mom ended up enjoying sharing the meal with me. This is coming from someone who is used to mocking me about how vegan food look and taste like lol. The pizza and lasagna taste real authentic and the pizza had a crisp rustic crust. They were both very filling. You could tell that they made their food with care and love. We decided to leave some leftovers for my sister who couldn't make it. So they gladly packed them into a box for us. They had specials during that day. Vegan cheesecakes for 4/5£ depending on the flavour. And also raw Tiramisu which also sounded delicious. And a chocolate calzone. Honestly i wish i could eat everything haha. Ordered the Coconut Cheesecake. The server told me that they had toppings and recommended that the caramel sauce would go well with it. It came on the side which was perfect as I was afraid it might have been too sweet (every dessert I had in Edinburgh has been extremely too sweet for my and family's liking). I sprinkled some of the caramel and took my first bite. *drumroll* It was -- HEAVEN. No words to describe how delicious it was! Angels were singing at the back of my head. It was not too sweet, creamy, the perfect amount of coconut.. Just a perfect creation. My mother tried it and she herself was shocked, again! Coming from someone who always complained about missing cheeses, and loves cheesecake. She LOVED this! We enjoyed sharing and slowly savoring each bite. This restaurant definitely deserves more people and recognition. Not because it is vegetarian and vegan friendly but because they truly serve good food even for the non-vegetarians. Prices were reasonable and much cheaper than eating at the centre. Food is delicious. Friendly staff. With all of the money spent on the previous restaurants, I would have LOVED to spend all of it here instead. In fact, we are so pleased that we will be coming back again the next day! Food you can seriously enjoy without any guilt. Comfortable environment. Smiling faces. Won't burn holes in your wallet. Nothing could make this experience any better! I wish we had this over at our country! Thank you all so much for this experience. Big hugs and love from Malaysia ♡

We ordered for delivery from here last night, and I am surprised at how many positive reviews they have! Perhaps the problems we experienced are less pronounced in restaurant. I don't like to negatively review vegan/vegetarian businesses- but the food really isn't worth it and I would not recommend ordering from here! My main issue was the food's cost. I know for vegan food you often need to pay a higher price than you would for regular food of the same quality, but the meal was just not very good. Everything we ordered was stone cold except for one dish which was piping hot, I normally don't fault delivery orders for being cold- but the one hot dish and quick delivery time tells me the cooking was just timed poorly. I ordered the vegan sausage ravioli I was very excited for, it was £15.90. There was only three pieces of ravioli. The ravioli pieces were big, but because they were bigger than normal ravioli the pasta was overcooked and doughy in some places/too thin in others. It was difficult to eat and the sausage to pasta ratio was weird. The sauce was very plain, just tasted of tomato and tomato paste. The sausage was okay; there was too much of it for ravioli so the strong flavour was overwhelming. The vegan cheese was cold but even then very good, some of the best parmesan i've had! We also ordered a vegan brushetta, it was £7. It was only one piece of toast, but it was a large piece of toast. However ,the bread was VERY stale and I didn't understand why, if their bread was stale and they still wanted to use it, they wouldn't just toast it so we didn't notice. There was one slice of chicken on it, mostly peppers (which were nice!), and some vegan mozzarella which I didn't enjoy (but probably would have on something hot). The vegetarian margarita pizza, £10, was under cooked and also lacked flavour. We ordered a vegan calzone for £13.50 and instead received a pizza. The delivery driver had two orders with him when he arrived and I noticed he had handed me an extra bag because it had a receipt stapled to it that wasn't ours, our order did not have a receipt stapled to it and instead had a handwritten piece of paper with our number on it. This makes me think they didn't include our receipt because they realised they had gotten our order wrong. The parmesan was nice on this too, but it was also undercooked. I understand vegan ingredients cost more, and the best parts of the meal were the fake chicken and cheese, but there were not enough speciality ingredients to justify the cost. Especially considering how cold, flavourless, and small the food was. With the extensive menu, if the food had tasted good I wouldn't have minded the price and probably would have ordered again. You can get quality, wood fired pizza for £7.90 and flavourful pasta dishes for £10 easily in Edinburgh, but from places that do not have vegan cheeses and "meat" toppings. The extras would be worth the higher cost if the food was higher quality!

✓ All Vegetarian with Vegan Options I was here for a late lunch on a Friday. I had the Vegan Penne Al Salmone [£13.90] – Penne cooked in a creamy sauce with garlic, cherry tomatoes, soy cream and vegan salmon topped with fresh parsley and vegan parmesan, because I was curious about the vegan Salmone. I really enjoyed it – the sauce was creamy, savoury and fragant (with the olive oil). It was balanced with some sweet and fresh tomatoes. I have no idea what the vegan salmon is made of but the flaky and delicate texture was very reminiscent of salmon, and added a nice texture to the dish. However, there was only a sprinkling of it. It was a huge plate and tasty dish with a decent topping of vegan parmesan, but for the price I thought it would’ve been nice if it had more of the vegan salmon. I was excited to try the Vegan Crème Brule [£5.50]… only to be disappointed by what I actually got. It was watery and gloopy. It was pretty much watery rice pudding with burnt sugar on top – not good at all. They have a huge menu of pizza and pastas, all vegetarian and with a similar number of vegan options. The service was a bit slow (considering I was there was only another table of 4 aside from me). The restaurant has an odd mix of décor that might throw you off when you enter. Still, it has a warm and cosy vibe. It is a narrow space so there isn’t many tables, so probably a good idea to make a reservation if you’re planning to come here for dinner. From what I had, they show promise – the pasta was delicious with some room for improvement. Good pasta and lovely notion of Vegetarian-Vegan Italian food, but definitely left have room for improvement. All in all, I would return should I find myself in Edinburgh again as I would like to try their other pastas and also pizzas.

A completley Vegan Italian This is the second time visiting NovaPizza. My last visit was sometime around November 2022. I must say immediately that I preferred the experience two years prior. Whilst it wasn't a bad experience, it wasn't a great one either; mediocre is how I would describe it. The service was decent enough but nowhere near as warm and intimate as my last visit. I understand that we were the last booking of the night and it was likely a busy day for them, but you don't slip on warm service because the end is in sight.

The food was expensive. Not stupidly expensive , but expensive enough. This mayhave been acceptable if the food blew me away, but it did not. I had the bread and balsamic oil to begin, a rather disproportionate amount of the dip for the amount of oil you get. My partner likes to test the level of service and repeatedly mentioned out loud that it would be really tasty if we had some more of the dip, not directly asked, just mentioned loud enough to be heard but those comments clearly went unheard. A minor issue though. I got the Lasagna which was very flavourful and filling, quite a large portion too, though the pasta was unbelievably soft so there was no need to chew your bites, just swallow. Not the greatest. Finally, my partner had the tiramisu which was decently enough priced, though the plating was a little slap dash. It came in a soup bowl and the edges were untidyly covered with coaco powder which didn't seem intentional, more just that tidying up the presentation wasn't on their list. Overall; the price came to £60 for bread and oil, Lasagna, tirimasu, a negroni and a cola. Not the worst prices I have paid, but a bit more towards the disappointing side of prices. I understand that as a vegan business the costs for produce can be a bit higher than regular restaraunts; furthermore, the location is not far from the city so I bet the rent is rather pricey. So with this in mind, I can accept the cost, but only if the food really made the night for me, which it did not. I probably won't be visiting again, not because it's bad, but because I think there are some cheaper and better options out there. Good luck to the business, I do hope they always stay open and we need more fully...
