Pierinos — Restaurant in City of Edinburgh

First of all, this is not so much the review of the food but rather the app that they have. I urge everyone to not use their app but order directly within the shop.

Over 2 different accounts, I have ordered a reasonable amount from them however, now I will not order via their app & most likely, not from them at all.

Reasons are this - I have ordered before accepting that you pay a Process Fee (70p) & a Delivery Charge (£3.30) & although I do not agree with these charges, I didnt let it sway me from ordering from them however tonight, there was a new charge! You now pay a Tip (there is no option for this other than what percentage you pay) - we paid 10% which came to £2.99 & as we were very hungry I decided to continue with the order, which I regret as it completely ruined the meal for me!

Under no circumstances should we ever be givin a mandatory tip to pay - we are paying a tip even before we receive the food, and tonight the food was cold but still edible. A tip should always be optional and when it comes to food, a tip should only be payable after you have received the food, and ate it - this is what determines whether a tip is worth paying!

All in all, before we even received the food we paid on top of our order, we paid £6.99 alone...

I recently had the pleasure of trying the fish and chips from this fantastic takeaway, and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed. The fish was perfectly cooked, with a crispy, golden batter that was not at all greasy or heavy. The chips were equally delicious - hot, crispy, and just the right amount of salt.

The portion sizes were very generous, and I felt like I got great value for my money. In addition to the fish and chips, I also tried some of the sides, like the mushy peas and the tartar sauce, which were both fantastic. Everything was clearly made with care and attention to detail, and it really showed in the taste and quality of the food.

The staff were also incredibly friendly and helpful, and it was clear that they take pride in their work. They were happy to answer any questions I had about the menu, and they even offered some great suggestions for other dishes to try in the future.

Overall, I would highly recommend this fish and chips takeaway to anyone looking for a delicious, satisfying meal. The quality of the food, the generous portion sizes, and the friendly service all make for a truly wonderful experience. I can't wait to come back and try more...

This is a great takeaway and I'd love to give it 5 stars. The selection is great, the food is good, everything's super clean and they've made a really great environment for a takeaway. I love the historic map on the wall.

However every time I go here they forget various bits of the order - I think it's because it changes hands between the staff that take it and the staff that hand it over. It's really annoying. I know the final burden is on me to check - but often it's small things that you only notice when you get home like the wrong sauce or a missing side.

This time it was an entire £10 pizza they forgot when they handed it all over at collection - and we missed it because we'd ordered 5 other things. Since we don't have a receipt, we've just lost that.

I'm really leaving this review to ask Pierinos to have some sort of checking on their end - maybe print out the receipt and cross-check before handing it over? It's really not a great feeling to find that you don't have everything by the time you get home 😕

So triple-check everything when you collect, but otherwise this such a good takeaway. The Pizza is...
