Cafe Marmalade — Restaurant in City of Edinburgh

A smiling face is especially welcome in the morning when you’re in desperate need of coffee. This is just one of the reasons I go to Café Marmalade. And there’s also the small matter that the coffee there is as good as you’ll get in the Shore area.

If it’s breakfast you’re after, Café Marmalade has a selection of croissants and pastries, as well as traditional hot morning rolls. If you’re in the market for something a little healthier, porridge, granola and fresh fruit is also on the menu.

Lunchtime soups at Café Marmalade are tasty and hearty. You can also choose from various salad options, and sandwiches are made fresh every day, with a massive choice of fillings. There are also larger dishes that are all homemade – the lasagne is warming on a cold winter’s day, and the chicken schnitzel is very tasty.

A lovely little deli with friendly staff and a surprising range of food for its size. Marmalade does breakfasts in rolls or on plates along with good coffee before transforming into a quick and tasty sandwich and salad bar.

Visited this morning and was served by a lady called Karen, she was really kind and I noticed she was equally brilliant with every customer that walked in whilst I was having breakfast.

I had a coffee and salmon scrambled eggs. I enjoyed both and appreciated that in both cases there were options if you couldn’t eat dairy and gluten.

The food and drink was very reasonably priced - both the scrambled eggs and coffee were a great sized portion! The food isn’t extravagant but it’s done to a good standard in my opinion, I’ll definitely be eating...
