When passing through waverley I believe we all have a moral duty to take the short walk out of the station, away from the burger kings, costas, pigeon feathers and lost people and spend our cash where it is truly valued. Snax is a great local place for a cheap quick bite. I'd sooner crawl here than go to any of the establishments inside the station. 30 minutes will give you ample time to get there from the station, eat in and make your connection as long as its not too busy or you could get a take away and be back in the station within 10 to 15 mins. Breakfast take away is available with cutlery to go as well as sandwiches and sweet treats. Imagine the food envy from the other passengers as you tuck into a massive gut buster on the train and they struggle to cope with how their whopper doesn't look anything like the photograph but it must be ok because they are only comfortable eating food from the big brands. Snax also offers good vegetarian options (Big breakfasts included) and healthier food. I'm just a fan of a...
Read moreI went in for a breakfast this morning and the length of time to order and receive the breakfast was about 10 mins which if you assume all the food is cooked to order would be acceptable. When I got the breakfast I had takeaway which was for their luck. Had I eaten indoors for an extra 40 p the food would have been given back! In all my 50 years this goes down as the worst food experience Iâve ever had. The cheap sausages came out of a deep fat fryer which is lazy and all it does is make the outer skin tough and inedible, the black pudding again poor quality was cold as were the cheap beans, the bacon had been shown no love as the fat was still squealing and the egg was over easy again cold and cooked by someone who really shouldnât be allowed near a range. Absolutely scandalous and by far the worst breakfast I have ever eaten or tried to eat. Never again! For comparison try cjs cafe dalry road similar price but another level altogether. Absolutely...
Read moreWe stopped at Snax as it was across the street from a bookstore and it had 4.4 âď¸s on Google. We wanted to visit the bookstore without feeling famished the whole time.
Short story short: I do NOT recommend unless you: like crowded tables and chairs that are not cleaned (dirty napkin in the condiment basket, crumbs on the table) donât mind a restroom where the toilet paper and paper towels are perched on the dirty windowsill donât need a glass of ice for your water or soda donât mind bland food - the cheddar cheese was the tastiest thing on my plate. no gluten-free bread/wrap options
Pros - cheap near a great bookstore, Tillâs close to The Meadows sufficient for poor college students, one of which I used to be but...
