It would be better if this place didn’t call itself a Korean restaurant. The service is excellent, and the staff is very friendly. When they served me a half-burnt egg, I asked them to redo it, and they kindly made it again. However, the second egg wasn’t fully cooked either. Still, I let it slide because they were so polite. Unfortunately, the moment I tasted the food, I realized it didn’t taste Korean at all, which left me disappointed. I ordered bibimbap, but they gave me a strange sauce instead of gochujang, and the yukgaejang was missing key ingredients—it tasted more like ramyeon(an instant Korean noodle). After eating, I even felt nauseous.
I’ve been to Korean restaurants run by Chinese owners before, and some of them do a great job—I’ve had delicious meals in such places. However, this restaurant seems fundamentally lacking in proper training for cooking Korean food.
It’s upsetting to think that Europeans might eat this and mistakenly believe it’s authentic Korean cuisine. I think they should stop calling it “Korean” and focus on making dishes they truly know how to prepare. Even the Korean phrases on the walls are incorrect, it’s just a restaurant trying hard to imitate Korea, I’d say. Since they’re running this alongside a Chinese restaurant, it might be better to focus solely on the Chinese side.

After a little deliberation we opted for the Assorted Meat (Set D) which came with Beef rib eye, pork belly, beef slice, pork neck slice, chicken thigh and 2 beers and in addition we also got the kimchi bokum bab (stir fried kimchi rice). The food arrived promptly and we were then able to cook it to our liking on the grill. The staff were friendly and attentive and overall we had a great time! - we will definitely...
Read moreThis is the best local restaurant in the Corstorphine area, and good by any standards. Authentic, great service. We had the Korean bbq at the table which included marinated meats, and a well-balanced dip. Nice vegetable tempura too. A lovely touch, included, was little dishes of beautifully dressed vegetables, these really helped make the experience. You can see the chef working away preparing in the background. We will be back - do not hesitate to visit! PS - I paid three times more in a central Edinburgh restaurant a few weeks ago and enjoyed that three times less than I did this...
