Horriffic experience here on Monday night due to Donna! We were a group of three, with one vegetarian who ordered a vegatarian main which also allowed them access to the vegtable section of the carvery. Donna told us that she would bring the vegatarian plate over so my friend decided to wait and the rest of us went up for food. By the time we came back Donna had not arrived with the plate for my friend so she just went and got one from the carvery section and just stated that she was not getting the meat. We all had finished our first plates and Donna came over and asked if we had finished, to which the vegetarian replied "yes" but then said "no sorry i'm not" as she forgot she could go up for the unlimited veg. Donna then replied awwh are you now? We found this comment awkward. By this point the veggie main had still not arrived and it had been 40 minutes so we no longer wanted it. We tried to look for Donna but could not see her so we just called the first member of staff that we could see who happened to be Dom, who apologised for the situation. Two of us went up for another plate of veg and could hear Donna discussing the amount of plates we were having with Dom. This was now the second time our eating habits were mentioned by Donna, making us feel judged. Donna then came over and said to my veggie friend that "she should have told her that the dish wasn't out" to which she replied "Oh i'm sorry he was just the first person we saw as we couldnt see you" and Donna replies "yeah well that was the manager and you got me in trouble." After saying this she walked away giving us no time to respond and we were unaware if she was joking or not but just left it. We then asked or the bill once we were all finshed and noticed that the veggie meal recieved a disocunt of £1.20 for not having the main part of it. We were not happy with this as we believe it was not a fair discount for not recieving the main componant of the meal so wanted to bring this up with Donna. We then saw Donna go over to the veg section and take a roast potoato with her bare hands and eat it in the middle of the restaurant floor. After she finshed her mid-shift snack we caught her attention and she came over. She was immediantely hostile when we asked if there was a chance we could get it reduced a bit further as we did not receive the main compentent of the veggie meal. Her response was "did u eat the veg?cause you arent getting free veg. you should have said to me before you went up for your second plate" My veggie friend then stated that she did not get a second plate as she was expecting her main and didn't know at that point she wouldnt recieve it as she thought it would have still been cooking. It wasnt until the 40 minute mark that she realised there was no main coming soon. Donna continued saying how we weren't getting the veg carvery for free which none of us once said. We then asked to speak to the manager. Donna shouted over the restaurant to Dom and walked towards him in earshot of us and lied to him saying that we were asking for a free meal which was not the case. Dom then said no but never spoke to us personally. Donna came back over and my friend asked again that we would like to speak to the manager and not throught you. Dom then just said he'll just take it off the bill and walked away to print out the new bill. Donna stayed at the table and then decided to point at other stuff of the bill asking what else we want for free. Donna then said i'll just let Dom cash you out. Dom then took us out of the resturant and cashed us out at the bar. As we were paying Donna then came over to the bar and looked at how much we paid. She was called out for this action by my friend as she said "not her running over to see how much we paid". Read moreI wouldn’t recommend coming here the lady was rude to us aswell food was really dry and not that great ended up getting bad stomach aches needing go the toilet a lot. looking foward having £5 deal for the plate were told allowed go back up for veregetain stuff just not the meat for the deal which we could only get once . I wanted get some more food before going back one staff said that was fine but when I went up the manager I’m assuming? said no because I was wanting have some more food just because had takeaway box but dint want waste previous food I eat 🫠 I also felt bit judge by that aswell I have bad anitexy and I have autism and learing disability also I think when was using bath room my freind told lady was complaing after she was trying clean up , to my freind and her daughter saying “what a mess” expect us clean it up which shouldn’t even happen or never had experience when we be loads different resturant because lady said lot people coming in for furneal etc then you need manage booking better 😐 . When I been different restaurant before with my friend and her kid couple times not once have they complain? shouldnt really be customer job clean up 🤷♀️ my freind already tidy up table a bit but even after finishing up when going pay bill Usally resturant are fine about splitting it but the lady said no had be on the card she was also checky made my friend charge a tip! Read moreLets starts with the room review, we understand they put it into the highest room rates they could be because it’s because of the royal Edinburgh international festival, and this hotel was the cheapest in Edinburgh, the room is basic, the toilet is small, you cant close the loo’s door while you’re in the toilet you have stand aside to close it while your inside, shower is tiny, Service, if there is lesser than one star ill gave it to special mention Mrs Toby, the rest staffs are okey. I feel the service of Mrs Toby is just for English and Scottish only, it happen when we ask to leave our luggage first before checking in because we are too early arriving at the hotel, she was okey serving , until i forget something from my luggage and i need to take them again, ( i understand the fact that it’s annoying) but you should maintain a customers service, I myself apologise for being a pain, but while apologising she impersonated me … and that day she makes my whole day bad. . I told myself not all people are nice even how we tried to be nice to them. Location, not bad bus stop is just at the front of the hotel. 20mintues walk to the nearest tram...
