Really want to give a fair review here as feel my experience was just down to bad luck or something Placed our order and as it was busy id say the longer wait time reflected how busy it was. I was given the wrong order so they took it away to change but had side order of rice sitting getting cold. It was a while before someone came and said what was happening so had to wait for a fresh meal to be prepared. Meal eventually came but at this point i was the only one eating as my friend had finished and i wasnt offered a warm side dish replacement so had to eat it with cold rice. The only positive to come from this was the server (young man) did apologise for the mistake and was super nice about it and offer 1 drink on the house as a result but the whole experience was mediocre and the food average. There was no follow up from wait staff to ask if meal was ok or if we wanted anything else. The two young women who were also waiting had a bit of an attitude on them initially until the order was wrong and they did apologise but it was the young man who owned the mistake and tried to make it right. I get the street food concept but to not be able to get more drinks as the first lot had been drunk ages ago while waiting for initial order then the correct order. Really disappointed as friends had recommended it and it was a meal before a gig so had looked forward to trying it. Will not be back. Had opted for this over wagamama as its a chain and wanted something more individual. Really...
Read moreThis was my second time to Ting Thai. First one was the other branch, and it went totally fine hence I came back.
My experience was quite bad. I ordered 2 pork phat kaphrao and 1 been phat kaphrao. At first, they delivered 1 beef and 1 pork, proclaimed both are pork until I asked why the shape of the meat are different. Only after that they let me know one is pork and one is beef.
The second pork phat kaphrao took quite long to be delivered to our table, which doesn't make sense since we ordered everything at the same time. It feels like they skipped that one pork phat kaphrao order, although the waitress got it right when I asked her to repeat my order.
The story doesn't end there. I realized my first pork phat kaphrao is too salty and a bit overcooked. When they delivered the second one, the color is totally different and I immediately complained about the first order saying it was overcooked.
They rushed into making a new one to replace the overcooked one. The replacement is not that bad in term of the saltiness and the ripeness, but it was too spicy for my taste, and the spice were all over the rice. I didn't complain again bcs it doesn't change anything, and ended up not finishing my meal.
Clearly there's something wrong with their taste consistency. If I got it fine at the first time, it was...
Read moreI was really looking forward to this after getting a really nice takeaway previously. I left a bit disappointed. It all started off on a bad foot before I even got there. My partner was asked to wait outside on a cold and damp night, okay space is tight. When the table was free and he went back in, the waiter stepped backwards and bumped into him saying "well after you" in a sarkiness tone, when it was obviously his fault. The waitress that took our order was very nice. We ordered and the Massama curry was a good flavour apart from very rubbery chicken, a bit too sweet for me but my partner liked the flavour. The Miang Pla seabass was perfectly cooked but the chilli sauce overpowered the fish... and I really like spicy food. The Pad See-ew was a bit disappointing. I didn't have it before, but from the menu I wasn't expecting a smokey, bbq, soya sauce flavour. I probably should have asked, but it was so hard to hear. The chicken was very dry. It must be precooked as you would have imagined being cooked in the Massama sauce would have made it tender. The toilets were also dirty. The carafe of red wine was fine. There was quite a few fruit flies trying to get into it, we kept having to swat them away. Overall, a bit disappointed and...
