Wagamama is my top choice for a restaurant chain because it consistently delivers a unique and satisfying dining experience. Wagamama have NEW items on their menu. Highlights include the vibrant, chicken and plant-based additions of the Hot Honey Chicken and Hot Sweet Fried Vegan Chicken. I feel the menu has a lot more options for vegans and vegetarians, and they have some new additions to their No and Low Drinks such as Spicey Mindful Mary and Spiced Plum and Orange. We tried mostly NEW dishes and got tucked in straight away to NEW Koko ‘prawn’ Crackers - Asian style crackers tossed in a coconut, chilli and lime salt served with a sweet chilli sauce. These carry the Pringle Effect, once you start you cant stop! - they are just a delightful fusion of flavours and textures. The Asian-style crackers are light and crispy, providing a satisfying crunch with every bite. Tossed in a mixture of coconut, chili, and lime salt, they offer a unique combination of tastes. The coconut imparts a subtle sweetness and creamy undertone, while the chili adds a gentle heat that tantalizes the taste buds. The lime salt brings a burst of zesty freshness, cutting through the richness and enhancing the overall flavour profile. Paired with a sweet chili sauce, the crackers are elevated to another level. The sauce is both sweet and tangy, with a hint of spiciness, creating a perfect balance that complements the savoury and aromatic seasoning on the crackers. Each mouthful is a delightful explosion of sweet, spicy, and tangy flavours, making it an irresistible snack. Hot Honey Fried Chicken - Yuzu. Chicken coated in hot honey and yuzu sauce Hot Honey Fried Chicken - Teriyaki. Chicken coated in hot honey and teriyaki sauce Hot Honey Fried Chicken - Firecracker. Chicken coated in hot honey and firecracker sauce. All dishes are topped with mixed pickles and served with a zesty mayo. Now as for the Hot Honey Fried Chicken - wow! These have made it onto my must-have list. You’ll bite into pieces of deep-fried chicken that's perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The hot honey adds a luscious, caramelized sweetness with a bit of a kick, while on top, a mix of pickles adds a refreshing crunch and a tangy acidity that further enhances the dish's complexity. The zesty mayo, creamy and slightly tart, ties everything together with its smooth texture and punchy flavour. The coating of hot honey and yuzu sauce creates a delightful balance of sweet, tangy, and slightly spicy flavours. The teriyaki sauce adds a rich, savoury depth with its slightly sweet and umami notes, creating a harmonious balance, while the firecracker sauce adds an intense kick of spiciness with its bold, tangy notes. I always have the Chicken Gyoza—it's a must-have for me. This time, we also ventured into trying the Tama Squid Balls, which were a delightful surprise but not for me. The real highlight of our meal was the collaboration with Spoons—The Crispy Tofu Sambal Fry. This dish features firm tofu coated in a flavourful blend of garlic and red pepper powder, served with a mild tomato sambal that perfectly balances the heat. Alongside, there's a vibrant pickled slaw, fragrant coconut rice, a chilled turmeric-stained egg, and a bowl of amai sauce to tie it all together. You can choose between crispy fried chicken or crispy fried firm tofu for this dish. We tried the tofu, and I was pleasantly surprised. Having never tried tofu before, I found it to be somewhat like halloumi cheese but without the squeak. It's an excellent canvas for absorbing flavours, making it perfect for this dish. The tofu coating was wonderfully crispy on the outside leaving the tofu silky and tender on the inside, creating a satisfying contrast in textures. It's definitely a great option, even for those who haven't been fans of tofu in the past. Wagamama strikes the perfect balance between fast food and quality cuisine.

food was awful, just spicy with no flavour, I don't know if its gone downhill or if I just didn't realise how bad it was before (I know I was trying to like it, but I remember it being a bit nicer) the woman I dealt with at the door while collecting my order was absolutely lovely though ^_^ when she came over while another staff member dealt with the person in front, I thought she was about to tell me to get my assistance dog out (sadly a common occurrence when out and about despite all businesses being legally required to allow assistance dogs), but no she just came to serve me and was very pleasant and went to chase up my food for me cuz I'd arrived way too early. it's just a shame the food quality didnt match the excellent service, especially when the ramen cost £16.50 :/ they could at least throw in a cool re-usable spoon rather than a disposable cardboard one, it wouldn't cost them much (I've bought £2 instant noodles before that came with a cool spoon and bowl) but would make me a bit less bitter about the ridiculous price :p

I like the look of this place, it's very clean and the seats are comfy and it's nice and warm inside. Unfortunately the food and prices are not up to par. This place is very 'imitation Asian food' where honestly you would be so much better finding an authentic Korean, Chinese, Japanese or Thai restaurant (that do exist in Edinburgh.) I ordered steak bulgogi which wasn't too bad but the steak was far too thick and dry to be like proper bulgogi and it was also £15!! Wow. That is so expensive for what it was. My partner had a duck donburi which tasted like cat food. And it also cost £15. I ordered a side of kimchi and although it tasted fine I got 3 small pieces for £1. And a small coke was £3. Ouch. I don't want to be too harsh because it's nice inside and the waiters were nice and I'd had ramen from Wagamama in Manchester which was good. So if I'd go again I'd just get ramen. But this experience was just disappointing.

Let me tell you a story about customer service in this Wagamama store. I won’t even talk about the food and how amazing it is (it’s literally my therapy food). So about a week ago, on Thursday I order Wagamama at 21:45 cause I know I leave university at 21:30 and I’ll be tired from a full day of lectures and activities, and I’ll be hungry. Me being me and looking extremely forward to this meal, places my Wagamama order through Deliveroo at 15:40 in the afternoon, since I already know it’s gonna be a tough day and imma need my therapy food. My order gets accepted yada yada yada. Fast forward to that night, I’m waiting for a phone call, nothing. At 22:15 (half an hour after my order was supposed to come) I get an email saying that my order was cancelled by Deliveroo because of no availability of drivers at that busy time. So by this point I’m pissed cause I’m hungry (more like hangry) and it’s already really late. I call Wagamama and ask them what happened and they tell me “We have no idea, your order is ready waiting to be delivered”. So, I call Deliveroo and ask for clarification and I’m told that I won’t be getting my order as per the email and I that I received a full refund and credit. Naturally, I sit in my room, full-on cry for about 5 minutes and then decide that I’m gonna get my Wagamama that I was so looking forward to. I call them and ask if my food is still there and the manager says it is, but it’s cold and asks me how long till I can get there so they can remake it. I get an Uber and in 15 minutes I’m there. Those sweethearts prepared my order from scratch at NO COST, gave me 2 complementary juices and were so apologetic about the whole experience. I cannot thank them enough for putting all that extra effort in making sure that I enjoy an amazing, just-prepared meal. Thank you to the manager, the staff and the cooks for ensuring that I don’t go...

I must admit that we felt in love with Wagamama restaurants when we first visited one in Ireland. In every single city there is one we eat there. No problem, if you call me biased.

Where to start? When you enter the restaurant, a friendly smiling staff member welcomes you and escorts you to your seats. During you stay you get as much water or green tea as you like. The staff will recommend you a dish if you wish and they're very helpful while considering your needs. After choosing your dish, you get it almost immediately. They are super fast it's incredible. The best thing is the food. It's so tasty I'm sure you can order anything from menu and you won't be disappointed.

If it's your first time visiting a Wagamama restaurant, I recommend you the chicken ramen (noodle soup with chicken breast) to get a first impression of that tasty cuisine. It's the classic one, that they're famous for.

During our visit we are two times there and this is what we had and love.

Starters/Sides: tori kara age (crispy chicken with sauce to dip) yasai steamed gyoza (steamed vegetarian dumplings with sauce to dip)

Main: ginger chicken udon (noodles with chicken) teriyaki chicken donburi (bowl of rice with chicken on top) chicken kare lomen (bowl with noodles and chicken breast covered in a curry-like soup)

To sum it up: I never ate there something what didn't taste me. You'll never have to wait long for your meal (if seats are available). Staff treats you like an old friend.

Can I recommend it? What are your waiting for? Get to the next restaurant immediately! You...
