Booked a table for 2 for Sunday lunch roughly 3 weeks ago now, we were not disappointed. Lunchtime buffet was 19.95 each and that included a all you can eat buffet/salad bar that included regular salad and vegetable items but also cold meats and a couple of lovely stews. We went to the buffet counter and on our return a basket of fries had been placed on our table. Kitchen staff/waiting staff then come to your table with various cuts if meat, I believe it was 6 or 7 different cuts of steak, beef and lamb joints and also sausage. Then after being served all varieties you are given a card to turn over to say if you require more meats bringing or if you wish to be left alone. The place was undeserving quiet for the time of day, however after talking to the manager he was saying the place had only opened very recently. All staff were friendly and fantastic from the manager, to the lady which seated us (weirdly in the exact same seats when it was the Mexican place) to the gentleman bringing the meats from the kitchen. They couldn't do enough. Absolutely recommend to anybody, such excellent value. It's worth noting that the evening buffet is £29.95 but this includes something more in the range of double the variety of cuts of meat that they bring to your table. We haven't tried that one but it's still obvious to see its excellent value too. Keep up the good food and...
Read moreA new experience for us, being our first time here. But we really enjoyed it.
We booked, but arrived early on the off chance. The staff had no issues accomodating us early. Service was prompt, but not pushy. The process was explained, and we were left to start whilst our drinks arrived.
It's a simple process - it's as much as you can eat - which may make you think the food quality is subpar, but it's not. Basically, you can help yourself to the salad bar, which is varied and well presented. Then, freshly prepared meat is brought to your table on a large skewer, and pieces taken off, or carved off, as required. If you want to skip some, just say. Once you've tried all the menu, you can select any of them, to try more of. Some are sweet, some spicy, and all come as standard medium rare. The quality is high, so this is perfect. If you prefer it prepared differently, just ask. Nothing is too much trouble.
As well as the unlimited salad, and amazing freshly prepared meat, you get chips included too.
The price after 4pm for adults is just under £30 per head as of Jan 22 at the York restaurant.
The staff were all great, helpful and attentive. Definitely worth a visit.
Updated March '22----- Still great staff, great food - and £20 during the day (for a slightly reduced menu - but still fantastic)....
Read moreWe used to go to the Caramba at Clifton moor every other weekend after Covid right up to the end of 2023 I think when it shut down for months for refurbishing, we loved it every time we went the staff was so friendly and welcoming and really got to know us and look after us. new work ventures has taken up a lot of my time this past year so not been able to eat out as much. We decided to go back now it had reopened and looks like new staff and new management are there, and all I can say is I’m very disappointed with it. The restaurant it’s self is still lovely but the meats are very poor in taste with no flavour and very bland, even the minted lamb wasn’t marinated before cooking (and that was my favourite ) it was cooked then just cold mint sauce added to it when served on a plate to us. There was no meats cut and served at our table at all other then the pineapple, as it all came out pre sliced on plates. There was only one larger available and they didn’t have any poring cream to go with the cheesecake desserts and you just got one little blob of squirty cream.
All in all very disappointing and on this experience alone we will not be going back to eat...
