Kaspa’s in Colchester is a good dessert place whether you’re into waffles, crepes, sundaes, or milkshakes, this place has a wide range of treats that look and tastes good. The menu is extensive and colourful, making it fun to explore, and the portion sizes are generous perfect for sharing (or not, if you’re like me and want it all to yourself!). I usually go to other branches and this is the first time to try it in Colchester, i ordered 2 scopes of ice cream. The interior is bright and modern, with comfy seating and a family-friendly vibe. It’s a great place to hang out with friends or enjoy a post-dinner treat. My only critique and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the service time. Even though it wasn’t overly busy, it took quite a while for my order although it’s just 2 scoops of ice cream. Overall, Kaspa’s is a solid choice if you’re craving something sweet and indulgent in Colchester.

Quite frankly, who wants to eat out for a big expensive meal and then eat in a separate place for high priced deserts? Rich and or obeese people! We are not American, we are in Colchester and healthy living is important. Highly Rich food for big wallets. Ah well, you get what you pay for... Swanky sickly decoration and lighting, and lame loud lo-fi music, with personally arranged seating, odd atmosphere. It's up to you if you like that aspect of the place. It really is difficult to order with the noise of chatter, music and constant high power blenders that go straight through your brain. I'm not sure their is a single English person working there, so hard to communicate. Oh well, in America they usually just point at the menu. Some of the food is great but much is very rich and sugary, especially the ice cream which gave me awful diarrhoea the first time i went there - Opt for the sorbet instead! If you know what desert you like, it's there, but be careful, ask about dietry requirements, if you can get through to them.

I had to report there was about FOURTY PLUS FRUIT FLIES lingering around the corner of the waiting area for take away, (yes, take away, we are not in America, it's not called take out here). Some one must have spilled a milkshake down the side of the seating, it stunk and it obviously hasn't been cleaned properly. I reported this to a staff member and she was too rude and dismissive. Very rude in fact, as if I had done something wrong for quietly reporting what is definitely a health risk in a food place... ...

So, late update, I returned and spoke with the manager, who had not been informed by the waitress whom i spoke to previously. However the manager was quick to thank me for sharing the knowledge with him and was keen to investigate. He assured me the issue would be resolved........... I wonder how long it took to be cleaned.

Upon reflection, I don't ever want to eat inside that place again, mainly the sugar content, the noise, the language barrier from seamingly all non English native speakers (which is not a good message to send out or good for business) / (i have no problem with multi cultural diversity, yet in this place, like i said, it really is hard to communicate).... ..... AND THE FRUIT FLIES! ....,....Apparently this place has good reviews from some and poor or terrible from others. That by itself should put anyone off as too many people are easily...

We have been regulars over the years and it's been good service and food, but yesterday's experience was atrocious. The staff were shockingly bad, the food standards have significantly dropped and we had an awful time. It took exceptionally long to be seated, we considered leaving but the children wanted to stay, so we did, eventually we were put on a table, the table had been wiped but was not clean, nor were the benches. We ordered, it took a long time for receiving goods, and a long gap between items, we were given no cutlery so had to chase the staff for some which took a long time getting some to us, all whilst children have their food infront of them. Ordered a chocolate fudge cake, cold with no sauce etc, just plain which we have had in the past many times before, my husbandade a point of repeating this over again, and low and behold we were given a hot cake lathered in chocolate sauce, when we complained saying we specifically didn't want this as our son doesn't eat it like that, we got no help/acknowledgement, just that's how it's served. So horrid especially as we'd made the point during ordering. My son couldn't enjoy it and pretty much left it. The bubble tea I ordered was tasteless and honestly the worst I've ever had. The arancini balls were awful, so hard to bite into, I'm sure they're not meant to be that consistency. When we asked for a box for my sons waffle to take home we were told to get it ourselves, whilst I understand they're available, where is the harm in staff passing it to you as its not a self service restaurant. Although by the amount of times we were chasing staff and getting up and down, it did seem like it was. Absolutely awful and atrocious service and food/drink. This has left one of our previously favourite eateries into a no go zone, mainly due to the staff being so rude and extremely bad service. I feel we should have some of our money back for the food/drink that was simply awful. Will not be going there ever again. Need to find a new treat place in town for the children. Kaspas you're unfortunately now just plain awful. If I could give zero stars that would be more fitting to yesterday's horrific experience. Sort yourselves out big time. You'll say you'll pass this on to yhe relevant people but that doesn't take away from our awful experience nor give us...

Arrived as a group of nine with 3 adults 6 children for my daughters 7th birthday. Restaurant was not that busy with lots of tables free but was asked by a young lady to take a seat whilst they found us a table. This young lady then dissapeared and was not seen again for the duration of our visit. We can only assume she finished her shift and went home. After 30 mins of waiting with numerous walk ins being seated before us I asked the man on the front desk what was happening with our table. (I could see a large empty table which had been sitting unused since we first arrived) he looked puzzled at our long wait and seated us on the table. We qued for another 10 mins to place our order at the till totaling over £50. We then took our seats and assured the children the ice cream was on its way. After about 20 mins they brought out my husbands ice cream and drink the poor children had to sit watch him eat. After another 10 mins they brought out just 1 of the childrens drinks it was actually the wrong flavour and she refused to drink it but being very british we didnt make a fuss or complain just told her we would order her something else. Around 15 mins after the first childs drink they finally brought a 2nd childs desert. The other 2 adults and 4 children including the birthday girl had not even received as much as a drink by this point and had to sit and watch whilst the 2nd child ate. After an hour of waiting from the time we ordered (we checked the time on the receipt) we finally gave up and asked to cancel our order. The girl on the till told me it was coming out now and was most put out when I told her that it was to late and we wanted our money refunded for the food and drinks we had still not received. 1HR 45 MINS and still no ice cream. What a complete joke. The girl then tried to say we had ordered all our food seperately which was why it was coming out like this and what did I expect thats absoloute nonsense and very rude of her. I took the children to pizza hut instead where they received some proper service and actually got some food. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY IN THIS PLACE VERY...
