D’Ambrosi Fine Foods — Restaurant in Cotswold District

Where to start, firstly and I guess most importantly the food is insane. I have been addicted to most of the dishes in there for a few years now. The DFC, kale Caesar, the spicy noodles, miso salmon, ribs…. All of it… so so good. The flavours are so unique and there is something so special about every single dish. Secondly, Jess, Andrew, Rose & Georgina - who are the most gorgeous family behind this place - put their heart and soul into every detail, the flowers, candles, all the amazing sauces you won’t find anywhere else. Chefs kiss! You won’t walk into that place and not leave with a smile on your face, whether it’s because Georgina has showered you with doggy love, or because you are so excited to eat the food, and Jess and Andrew’s infectious passion for the food has rubbed off on you. Hosting a large family gathering in Stow and happened upon D'Ambrosi to help with the catering. What a find! Once we'd got our heads round the menu options and portion sizes it was just a case of trying to choose one delicious dish from another - honestly don't think we'd have gone wrong whatever we'd chosen. That said, the crispy pork belly went in minutes, the aubergine parmesan was a big hit and went well with all the meats, kids loved the roast chicken (the spicy green sauce was particularly lovely with the leftovers!), the salads (especially the carrots) were zingy and yummy and the clementine & almond cake was a perfect finish. Not cheap but so worth it. Jess was super helpful on the phone. I just confirmed our order a week or so in advance. We stopped in to grab something quick to-go for lunch, and we ended up sitting in, chatting with the lovely owner, and eating some of the best food either of us had had In a long time!

Gorgeous langoustine rolls - like lobster rolls but better-, and beautifully seasoned empanandas, but the highlight (other than the delight that is Georgina), was the DFC. The most delicious fried chicken I have ever had with honey chilli on the side.

Service was incredible and everyone who popped in while we ate was welcomed with open arms and a huge smile, and did not leave disappointed. So many locals came in for a chat with Jesse or to fill her in on their weekends whilst leaving with their hands full. She was so attentive whilst managing to juggle everything else.

We were in food heaven, and we'll be back regularly even though we live nowhere near Stow! Thank you to Jesse, Andrew...
