Made my eyes water when I ordered my sandwich, and the lady said £6.50... was even more disappointed when I ate the sandwich... was expecting something amazing for it to cost that much. Nope. Was an ordinary sandwich, and the sausage was undercooked. Very underwhelming. I could get a full breakfast with a cup of tea for that price in any normal establishment. The interior/exterior or location of the cafe didn't warrant them charging these prices either. On the exterior it looks like a bang average cafe so I was expecting bang average cafe prices. Was not expecting to pay premium prices for average food in the middle of Coventry of all places

The fact I gave dixy chicken a better review than you and their food hurt my stomach is more a reflection on yourselves than me. All of my reviews are honest. In fact the only time I leave a review is when I feel compelled to. Otherwise I won't bother. We have cafes like yours all over Birmingham, I suggest you come and visit and see how it's done properly. If you can't even get the most bang average items on your menu right then I don't know. Like I said, the sausage was undercooked.. didn't even taste like premium ingredients. Look up windowbox cafe and see how it's done properly, I am in no way affiliated with them, but they do everything you guys do but 100x better. They charge premium prices and I'm more than...
Read moreThe food was superb. I have a restricted diet so most of the menu was off limits but my companion is a foody and was impressed.
However there were no menus on the table and because the till area was so busy with take out when we arrived, we didn't see them, and couldn't have got to them. We waited half an hour for a coffee, even though by the time we ordered it was quiet (3 tables occupied, no queue). Service was far slower than you would expect for the number of customers.
The place is VERY small, they've tried to use it the best they can but it seemed like friends were just hanging there in the hall to chat blocking the way to and from the back room.
What I really didn't like was a staff member opening the door with her shoed foot several times, raising it above table height near where people were eating, but also not wiping it for the next person going out to eat possibly with their fingers.
Again the food was excellent, but little things like no napkins, long wait for order, it just felt like they had a really good chef but the front of house wasn't important.
I feel like it's almost really...
Read moreIt was not made clear that pre booking is required. We sat in the window seat for 15 minutes deciding what to order and wasn’t until we went up to order that the staff member told us they are not serving food for people who haven’t booked. I could not understand why the staff who saw us arrive did not politely communicate this with us upon our arrival instead of waiting until we were ready to order. When they did communicate, the staff member was rude. We heard the same staff member communicating with a colleague about having to ask other people who had ordered to leave because they didn’t have enough tables for people turning up for bookings. The staff were clearly stressed and were not able to hide this so it was impacting on the atmosphere for their customers. Sadly this appears to be a cafe which is struggling to run during busy periods and unfortunately during those periods it is affecting their customer service. Hopefully they can take this feedback forwards and remember that their communication and attitude is just as important as making...
