Warm welcome at the door to a bright and trim restaurant that has a natural ambience of busy but personal. From the moment of sitting you are made to feel like you're the only table that matters, this was a nice touch. Of the 4 of us, 3 were drinking alcohol, we simply asked for the House White which was fit for purpose. I'd heard the starters were quite large so we opted for 3 of the 'Nibbles' options, these were only plenty big enough to suit us. Do try the deep fried rice balls, they are lovely.

We had mains of Pizza, Spaghetti frutti di mare, Fillet Steak and Pollo Funghi. Steak was ordered Rare, it arrived, Rare. As the most expensive dish, this was the most important. They were keen to check it was OK very soon after first cut.

The ongoing service was excellent, attentive and polite. Conversation was made but not in an intrusive way and we were never interrupted if in conversation with each other. That is the sign of a good host.

Everything was clean, and heavy cloth napkins are a very nice touch. Water is already on the table and refilled without asking. I was not drinking alcohol, so had the Bud Blue zero. I'd have maybe liked one or two more options on that particular point but it certainly didn't spoli anything.

We sat for nearly 2 hours, taking it at our pace and the bill for 4 adults was £162. We feel that was very reasonable as the food was fresh and of superb quality. The sauce for the Chicken was divine, with mushroom that actually had a stronger taste. We opted for the Peppercorn sauce with the Steak which was also fantasic. The Potato and Veg sides served with the main were plentful and hot.

We will be...

After seeing great reviews about the resturant we decided to come and pay Da Nico a visit with some friends who came to visit us. The resturant was very busy but we were seated very quicky and the server was very polite and apologised that they didnt have any menus available at the time. Which was no trouble for us we could see the resturant was busy and was happy to wait. We ordered drinks and then got the food menus. Wide range of choices available and even some good veggie options. We ordered our food and chatted away. When the started arrived they were so full of flavour it made you want more it was great. Everything is made fresh and the servers came over to apologise about the wait for the mains. We tottally understood as it was busy and we were happy to wait. When mains arrived wow they were amazing. Great flavour and taste and empty plates all round was worth the wait for sure. We also ordered desserts they had run out of tiramisu so we order a rum baba and profiterols. They didnt dissapoint at all. Overall a lovely meal and experience and we will be back for sure. Lovely staff and all fresh food couldnt...

Ate here a few weeks ago with a friend and thought the food was amazing. Booked a table for me and my husband for Friday night at 8pm. I'd told my husband how lovely it was compared to other Italian restaurant in Crawley. Was really looking forward to our date night. Arrived at the restaurant. There was a couple in front that hadn't booked and were shown to a table that seated four. When we were waiting to be seated the manager turned a table round that seated 2. It was in the window. It meant one of us would be staring at a frosted window all night. On the next table were 4 youngsters being quite loud. I asked the manager politely if we could sit somewhere else. He was so rude to me. He said "No, take it or leave it madam" I looked around the restaurant that was no way full and couldn't believe he wouldn't change our table. I could understand it if it was busy. I didn't mind being on a 2 seated table although i noticed other couples were on 4 seater tables. I've never experienced this before. My rating is for the service and not the food. Very dissaponted. Ruined...

We went here for a Thursday lunch. It's obvious that Crawley's Thursday lunch scene isn't the UK's busiest, and so we were the only customers for lunch. They had a lunch set menu of either 2 or 3 courses, but we found the regular menu priced reasonably too and had a cheesy garlic bread starter and then a pizza each as a main. The service was excellent, not intrusive, but always there when we would have liked her to be. The chef came out to serve the starter, which was a nice touch. As for the food, we both really enjoyed the pizzas and they were genuinely some of the better ones we’ve have in a while! One of my most recent pizzas was at Sorbillo’s in Naples, and this one was very very close to that! They were large enough that neither of us managed to finish ours, and we ended up taking the leftovers home. We hadn’t been to Da Nico’s before, and this was a very welcome surprise. Can definitely recommend coming here, and presumably it’s busier in the evening!

No wonder Da Nico is rated No.1 in Crawley, it truely is a gem thanks to the shining staff Emilia and Mario providing such charm and an outstanding service from welcome to goodbye. We had such a positive experience and left feeling elated. I can't believe I've not been before, and definitely will return again soon. The food was delicious,we had mussels to start, and the sauce was so flavoursome we asked for extra bread (simple but divine) to devour it. We figured why not get a pizza and a pasta dish to share. The huge Calzone was perfection, containing Mozzarella, Mascarpone, Ham, Spinach and Mushroom. Along with a generous plate of their Crab Parpadelle which was so moreish and tasty. I had two glasses of the Grillo white wine which I really enjoyed. I highly recommend you visit, Mario and Emilia will look after you beautifully, big thanks to them for a very memorable evening.
