I went there in August with my partner for somewhere to eat/drink after finding nowhere else in Crawley. Wasn’t very impressed. Food was not too bad, standard pub meal. My issue was service or lack thereof.
First off we ordered drinks once we sat down. I had a Guinness and my male partner had a double vodka Coke. The server who gave our drinks was a tall big guy who delivered our drinks by not even asking who had what drinks, he just guessed by looking at us then just putting them on the table. So he put the pint of Guinness by my partner and gave me the vodka coke which was actually for my partner. He gender profiled us and just assumed that was the right drinks in front of us, it wasn’t obviously so we switched them in front of him then he walked away. He didn’t say a single word in the whole interaction. Maybe he was having a bad day, that’s fine. But you’re in customer service, so always try and be professional.
Later on, we then ordered a second round of drinks (on the app like the first time). We put our order through and 20 minutes pass and we still haven’t received our drinks. So I went up to the bar to ask where they are because it shouldn’t take 20 minutes to make two drinks. And the lady at the bar, Said she didn’t have any receipt come through, Because their receipt printer wasn’t working. Technical issue, fine. She then made our double mixers in single glasses. So we got less product. I work myself in a bar so I know what’s the right glasses to use, and she put a double in a single glass. And it wasn’t exactly cheap either so that’s why I was irritated.
So on a whole, after that experience, I’m not sure if I would come back. It just doesn’t seem like a very professional place. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, But that’s besides the point.

Read moreDepending on your disposition, walking into The Railway may feel a bit like The League of Gentlemen ("You're not from around these parts, are you?" and "This is a local pub for local people") but don't let first impressions fool you: this is a great boozer! True, there are mainly locals/regulars there, but it's a welcoming enough place for outsiders, too.
Lots of screens for sports, a pool table, several games machines, 8-pint beer towers (should the mood take you!), outside seating, and very welcoming staff. So... it's a Stonegate pub, and the selection of drinks and menu is according to that chain's dictates. Having said that, my lasagne wasn't bad at all and part of the January special deals: who can complain about a main meal and a pint for a mere £6.74?! Taking about which, the prices in this place are almost rivalling Wetherspoons down the road but with incomparable atmosphere.
Walk up from the town centre and wait for the railway barriers to open... it's worth the wait: you won't be...
Read moreI was looking for a venue for us 10 ladies to kick off for our St. George’s day, and was told by Caroline that her pub done a bottomless brunch, so I thought I’d check it out and booked it, we weren’t disappointed at any stage -What a fabulous place to have a bottomless brunch, we were sat in a lovely area away from the bar. at £20 a head, you could either have full English breakfast or lunch for a further £3 , I had the chicken burger which was two chicken breasts with fresh salad, pickle and fries, all cooked fresh and served up hot, absolutely delicious and non stop Prosecco , we had two lovely ladies - Amy and Caroline, who kept us topped up constantly both very attentive, chatty and big smiles, best customer service I’ve had in a while. The pub it’s self is a great place to visit, while having sports on the tv’s or having a music nights, there is something for everyone. toilets are nicely managed and so clean, and the pub too, I’d definitely do this again, big thank you from...
