Wow, wow 😡 shockingly wow 😡 I’ve booked a table for 5 online (2 adults, 3 children specifying their ages), they’ve called me after 1 hour to confirm I was coming. And again I said it’s for 2 adults +3 children. We arrived, went to the table and I asked politely if they have high chair for my 2 years old. The waiter said :”we don’t have a high chair as we don’t accept children in the restaurant “ I was shocked, shocked 😨 looked around and obviously saw other children (not toddlers to agree) but wait, I’ve specified we are a family and ages too online and on the phone too!!! Then he said: well it’s ok now, you are inside it’s fine 😡😡 whaaatttt?!?! I’m coming to have dinner with the family, on your website doesn’t specify that there are no children allowed! And he made us feel so bad, we accepted to stay and have dinner as it was late and anywhere else you would need booking to have your dinner and it was late already. Everything was rushed, we had to make our 2 year old stay quiet for the whole hour we stayed there, as we would have felt bad to have kids noise when they actually don’t take children. But again, they never specify this! Very disappointed! Food is good and tasty although is extremely pricey! But the fact that they made us feel unwelcome we will never visit again! They don’t care about their...
Read moreAfter about 30years I decided to try this restaurant again as so many different ones have popped up over the years! Wow this place is by far the best in the area without a doubt. Being a perfectionist I notice everything. Firstly the interior is professionally decorated with clean, crisp lines & is not bodged. It looks immaculately clean everywhere including the toilets. The dining area is warm & welcoming which is nice on these cold nights as I’ve had to keep my coat on in other places. So before you even look at the menu you already feel valued! Next is the delicious food. The flavours are all different & tasty without being over powering or just a mish mash. I compare to quality hifi where you can hear every instrument.. The chicken we had the texture of organic meat. To sum up The Taj Mahal Crawley maybe be slightly more pricey than elsewhere but in my opinion you get so much more for your money & whilst it keeps these standards it is my only Indian restaurant. I have also had a takeaway collection when my son was visiting & the food was equally as delicious. First Class. Thank...
Read moreDisgusting service. Rude, abrupt, arrogant, patronising and undeserving of 1 star. Moreover we ordered a takeaway for delivery, one dish being a vegan masala and this was not produced, the masala had cheese in it. When we complained we were spoken to as described above and told to collect the money to refund the dish at the restaurant ourselves. We eventually managed to have them deliver the refund (which should have been for the dish and the rice, as the dish was put over the rice before discovering that it was not vegan as requested) but the amount refunded only covered the masala initially before they eventually conceded as we dug our heels in (but it was a battle that was not warranted). It was later discovered that the chicken tikka dish that I ordered was not tikka and was ordinary chicken which was very dry. We did not even receive any sort of apology. Lastly, significantly overpriced, not worth the money, and I advise you try Bengal Spices as I have had far better experiences there, the chicken is head and shoulders above what you receive...
