...# disappointed, I asked to use the salt and vinegar myself and was refused twice, staff member insisted on doing it himself even though there were bottles on the counter that appeared to be for customers use ( he seemed quite angry ) he put the wrong amount on so sadly ruined it. He then squashed the fish (as if it had personally offended him) muttered continously whilst wrapping it (as if he was trying to curse it) and then virtually threw it at me onto the counter. Very bizarre & disappointing culinary experience as I'm working with a film crew in the area so it's nice to have good food when we are away from home doing long hours . This wasn't it ... All round an excellent fish n chip shop. The cod was cooked to perfection and the batter doesn't give you a headache from being too heavy, which seems to be a common occurrence in a few other fish shops. The chips stayed great even after a drive home to the eat. The batter sausage and selection of other compliments is varied and wide, and the curry sauce, dare I say I have it with my fish and chips is very delightful. The only thing that was inconvenient was the bit of a que on a Friday evening. Though this is to be expected with it being fishy Fridays, and all of their fish is cooked to order....

My godson phoned the fish bar while I was driving there to check the place hadn't run out of fish and chips. They confirmed that there was still fish left. I arrived 10 mins later to find that they they were shutting up shop and they that pretended that hadn't received the call. This was half an hour before closing time. They had one portion of chips left and couldn't be bothered to serve me. Avoid. Fortunately I had enough time to drive to Boxmoor Fish and Chips. They served me with a smile and I even got a free pie as they were shutting up. Go...
