AVOID if you are used to authentic quality bubble/boba tea (Taiwanese) (or if you are used to other bubbleology stores) OR if you donāt want to be ripped off with sneaky sales tactics OR want a complementary plastic green cleaning sponge scourer in your drink. My drink and my friends drinks were very watery (probably used 40% less powder). We all order hot tea/ coffee boba drinks (option to have hot cold) but we were charged 30p more to make it hot which was NOT mentioned in the menu and the man didnāt notify me beforehand of the extra charge for hot (also other Bubbleology stores do not charge extra). The man asked me if I was tapioca bubbles in my drink which I was surprised because itās included (itās like asking me if I want bread in my sandwich) so I replied āitās already included isnāt it?ā And he said yes, and he asked again if I want tapioca bubbles which I replied itās already included (he asked 3 times and I replied the same 3 times). I asked him why is he asking me when it is already included and he informed me that some people donāt want the included boba, so I said I want the included boba. Normally they ask do you want extra toppings but this guy said ādo you want tapioca bubblesā instead (I now realised why he asked in this specific way because he sneakily charged my friend for ADDITIONAL bubbles which is 50p more. I didnāt fall for it but it obviously works on most people. Not only my drink was an extra 30p for hot, and watery, but the straw melts so their equipment is not ideal for the product they are selling AND there was a green sponge scourer in my drink and when I took it back to complain, sure enough thereās a green sponge scourer on top of one of the equipment winking at me. They even gave a silly excuse why the hot drink was watery indicating that it should be like that, but we have lots of other teas elsewhere itās actually a pathetic excuse to add to their sneaky tactics or lack of training/ incompetence. They did make us a replacement drink which was better BUT it was very powdery and not mixed properly. Boba was nice and soft but thatās the only good thing. I replied with a yes but then I realised almost immediately that my boyfriend also wanted a drink so I told him āIām sorry, I am ordering another drinkā. As I looked up I noticed that he made a face and scoffed at the till. I was taken aback by his attitude and I discussed this with my boyfriend. When I received my drinks I was going to take my drink to a corner and pierce it with a straw. However, the lady that was working there told me to pierce it whilst holding the top of the straw. I attempted to do it right there and then cause she was waiting for me to pierce the drink. I was unable to pierce the drink so I gave it to my boyfriend and she kept shouting over and over again āthumb on top of the strawā which I found incredibly rude and humiliating. My boyfriend followed her instructions and the drink spilled everywhere. She didnāt seem to care at all⦠she was emotionless. She gave us tissues and I wiped the cup. I asked her if she could take the tissue and put it in the bin because the tissues were drenched. She refused but gave us more tissues upon my request. The drink was even spilled on the floor. I was not happy with this service and I would feel sorry for any customer that visits this place and they are new to bubble milk. The girl behind the till looked terrified and looked scared to be there on her own, she looked as if she didnāt have a clue what she was doing and was hiding behind the counter pretending to clean shelves. I ordered a charcoal/lychee/cream cheese tea, I had never had this before and thought Iād try something new. The girl failed to tell me that they didnāt have half of the ingredients, and made me what I could only describe as a charcoal flavoured slushie. It was gritty, bitter and tasted absolutely vile. I had 2 sips and returned back to the stand to see if I could get a refund or another drink made for me as I physically couldnāt drink what she had made. When I returned, another staff member was stood at the stall, an older American bloke, I explained the situation to him and he said āshe should have informed you that we didnāt have the right ingredientsā I told him that she had not told me. We then called the girl over and she just stood there looking at me, all clueless.
