Rosa's Thai Bluewater — Restaurant in Dartford

In summary, food was awful so I cannot recommend.

We arrived at this place just after 3pm on a Sunday. It was almost empty and we decided to go in because everywhere was very busy.

We had to wait for around 10 mins before we were seated. I think the main issue was that there was only one waitress sitting customers. The other was only bringing food and drinks to the table as we later found out.

After we were seated, a steady stream of customers entered and for some reason, everyone was packed into the front sitting area with insufficient social distancing while the back half of the venue was empty (see photo). It appeared to be reserved for staff.

As we sat to wait for our order to be taken, I could see that nothing was happening inside the kitchen. There was no movement, no sound and certainly no food being served. My point is that they were not busy. All the while, the waitress was run off her feet, doing her best with no help. As far as I could see, there were 2 waiter/waitress and a manager who was sat in the back on his laptop.

We were hoping that the food would make it up to us as we knew Rosa's and knew how good the food could be. I have been to 3 others so I know!

However when the food came, it was disappointing to say the least. The starters we ordered was Summer Rolls and Papaya Salad. The rolls were average but the salad was too sour and too spicy. It was too much by the usual Rosa's standard that I know.

The main course of Pad Thai with Vegetables and Stir fried flat noodles with beef were awful. The beef was cut incorrectly (see photo) causing it to be very chewy. Very basic cooking technique which I think any enthusiasts would know. There was egg shell in the pad Thai. Very chunky vegetables which is wrong when they are supposed to be combined with a thin noodle. Honestly I have had better while following a basic youtube video.

The only good thing about this place were the waiter and waitress. They seemed to be hardworking and she felt genuinely embarrassed when I gave her my feedback. She went and got a discount for me. If they accepted cash, I would have left her a tip as it was not her fault at all and she did...

2022: Updates. So we go from 3 to 4 stars.

This place is as lovely as it was the last 2 time we went. Going this time, we are a bigger family and we loved the meals (except the bubble tea, which is questionable unsweet or simply put, we've had better somewhere else) but everything else, super lovely.

For a returning customer, I would think maybe some sort of discount would be activated but its all good. Ana, who was part of the customer service team was good on the day. There was another lady (forgot her name) she was so smiley and lovely in her service too. Anyway, we had good tasty food. Highly recommended

2020 Update Review. From last year, when we had a 5 star experience. This time, it wasn't good. My wife has a condition (use your imagination) and we requested a comfortable sit for her from the man who attended to us but was turned down and this is with our bookings. Literally, about 10 minutes later, another couple was sat where we requested. With that being said, my previous 5 star is now 3 stars. Will, the young chap that attended to our meal was gracious though, lovely man. Ask for him (if possible). Good food though. ... 2019... Thong was the guy that served me tonight and it was amazing. The food was delicious and very flavourful. Thanks for the experience guys... by the way, I had to order extra rice cos the chicken red sauce was really amazing... I definitely recommend this...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Rosa’s Thai Bluewater Restaurant, and I must say, the experience was truly exceptional, largely thanks to our wonderful server, Tina. From the moment we arrived, Tina greeted us with a warm smile and a level of hospitality that made us feel right at home.

Her knowledge of the menu was impressive; she provided excellent recommendations tailored to our tastes. I opted for the pad thai which was absolutely divine, and my partner enjoyed the meat platter and chicken satay that were all bursting with flavour - everything was aroi mak! Throughout the meal, Tina ensured that we had everything we needed without being intrusive.

What stood out most was Tina's genuine passion for providing excellent service. Her attentiveness and friendly demeanor elevated our dining experience and made us feel truly special.
