Amazing food trully beautiful
Would suggest few more sides as only chips suggest new poratoes and one extra veg option spinach or leeks or carrots but again only brocollu so as didn’t like chips or bticolli gad no option
Food was trully amazing I live part year in Dubai where good and service is beyond anything
The four here batch done of best places I’ve eaten in works
The service was poor not there fault but awful clearly no idea how to deliver service at high level did enough nice enough but need to be trained for high end service to match the food
Could easily if spent £100 more if served as could of been no table clearance until asked no one asked for drinks until we asked food delivered to table sides few mins after. I comms wasn’t aware of menu fully outfits should match food levels and not best to loll around the passe looked bored
This is fine to poor training and mgt
However didn’t affect our day and the good was incredible we had driven an hr each yo try and would fone again for food
Could easily make better eith training and service that should match mitchelin...
Read moreVisited here with a group of 7 for an evening meal. The bar was bustling and the place has recently been converted from an old bank. Refurb has been done really well. However the food let the place down and we all agreed. The broccoli soup didn’t taste of broccoli as they had added other items which gave it a vinaigrette taste. Possibly the cheese. The chips were amazing. The cod portion was tiny. Most of us had the raspberry pavlova for desert and they had only one raspberry on them. Such a shame when they cost £8 a desert so not cheap. The food is trying to be too fancy and at those prices just poor value for money. We all said we would not visit again which is a real shame as the place and service was great. We had a retired navy chef with us and he was also underwhelmed and said his chicken was over cooked. One of the party is a stock taker for bars and restaurants and was appalled at the deserts with regard to the gross profit against what was served being a bit of...
Read moreI’ve been twice now.
Once for lunch when it was quite busy and I had a couple of dishes and a glass of wine.
The first course was squid which was just fabulously cooked and presented.
Second dish was Teriyaki chicken which was tasty, but a bit too big a portion for me.
A couple of days ago I went back and had 3 fish starters rather than a main.
Smoked haddock just perfect the best I’ve ever tasted. The squid again with a slightly different take with amazing fragrant sauce. Finally some sea trout. All perfectly cooked and presented.
The service was attentive and professional.
Good range of wines by the glass and bottle.
They clearly have a very talented chef who really knows how to cook fish.
The evening session early in the week was a bit quiet, so I hope people in Ashbourne realise what a gem of a restaurant we have and support it so that it is the success...
