McDonald's — Restaurant in Derbyshire Dales

TL;DR Become horrible here now.

We come here quite a lot as it's easy and (meant to be fastfood) Been coming for 1.5 years since moving to the area, use to be cheap, fast and cheerful food. Not as cheap anymore, definitely not fast at this site and usually always wrong on our orders...(we don't substitute anything and usually just order direct from the menu the standard items) YET nearly everytime we go something Is wrong with the order, be it missing an apple pie, (only 2 of us) mising fries, burger missing from the 1 main meal or even giving medium fries but ordered large. Just bizarre simple things.

I've worked at McDonald's myself in the past and I know it's not that hard to look at what's been put in the bag and compare it to the order list.

Just seems really lazy to me which is just a shame. No pride in working at all, if you don't want to work there then quit and do something else otherwise, just do your job you are paid to do. It isn't hard to be attentive to what you are doing.

It could be that the change turnover of staff seems VERY high here as I've rarely seen the same staff twice apart from supervisors/managers inside which don't care just as much as the normal staff. See them literally launching food into the bags, and customers are mumbling to each other about it.

We use to do the drive through but no more as you are sat in a queue for AGES and then asked to almost every time to park outside as they don't seem to be able to handle the speed and pressure of the drive through anymore. (They use to be fine)

Anyway, it turns out this was just a rant, but it's just gotten worse as time has gotten on, and we only go there now if we REALLY are craving something...

The consistently worst McDonald’s I’ve ever had. Every couple months I would come to this restaurant thinking it’ll be better than the previous times, but honestly nothing has changed, only got worse. They should either close down the store or change their management and staff altogether. The staff are inattentive and can be extremely rude, especially when you make a complaint about an order being wrong or having missing items. It’s like they don’t want to do what’s actually required of them as an employee.

My previous 3 orders at this specific location I’ve always had soggy cold chips which is absolutely disgusting and only filling up half the box as if someone has eaten half the chips, I always ask for no salt and somehow it goes through one ear and out the other. The other food items is always lukewarm or cold and it’s like the food has been waiting out for a while and just reheated.

The cleanliness of the restaurant lately has been below average too, sticky tables and don’t even want to begin with the toilets. I can’t imagine what the kitchen must look like.

It seems like a very chaotic and an uncontrollable environment even when it’s not busy with their drive-thru. The staff get offended or can’t handle the fact that they get an order wrong and give a whole lot of attitude to customers, they can’t seem to handle criticism very well.

There has been no improvements with the food quality or overall experience over the years, I don’t know how this place still gets 5 star reviews, maybe it’s a hit and miss for some, but I would definitely not recommend coming here, just go to the next...

Went into the Matlock branch 15/07/2025 parked in the Car park it was hammering it down first rainfall since the drought and was meeting friends coming from North Yorkshire who were running late due to the excessive rain and traffic jams so i went inside to grab a Coffee and wait for my friends to arrive and had no idea there was a Time limit in the customer parking area my friends arrived about 45 mins late anyway we had some drinks first and chatted then ordered some food the restaurant was busy so a slight delay but we enjoyed our food and the staff and service was good after chatting we decided to order some desserts which once arrived was delicious and enjoyed so decided after to order more drinks to wash down an enjoyable meal and great get together meeting up for the first time in just under a year what could possibly go wrong ??? yes today 26/07/2025 i get a letter through the post in my partners name car being registered under her and we have got a £50 parking ticket which we are very upset about more so after the amount of money spent in Matlock McDonalds we are not happy about this we did nothing wrong we did not know about time restrictions and stayed onsite at McDonalds restaurant this is not the way to treat...
