Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Doncaster

The products, as most know, are great! The customer service...not so much! It wasnt overly busy, and we were served today by a middle aged women whose name tag said "Trivena" but whose receipts pointed to a "Kim". Trivena ignored us for a good 12 minutes while chatting, before taking our order and telling us "YOU won't have a Costa card" before marching away! I have a couple of tattoos I suppose, and my partner is disabled, but unsure why the likes of us wouldn't have a reward card! She then proceeded to not put the lid on a drink, which poured all over us and not once offered a paper towel or apologised. Service was very friendly i went in to get my free coffee and a toastie...! when asked if I would like a cake for £1 I obviously said yes please but another staff member said you can't have both free coffee and a cake for £1 so I asked if they can take off the cake please they said yes sure... but when I paid by contactless phone I noticed I was charged £6.75 instead of just £4.45 which was the price of my toastie as the coffee was free... when asked about it both staff members apologised saying ooh we charged you for the cake sooo sorry and I got a refund without question. Visited costa in Next today with my little boy. Aaron’s customer service was exceptional, he is a true credit to their team. Served me firstly with my hot chocolate, very polite. Then I went back for my sons - he ensured that the member of staff making my sons milk free drink, cleaned the machine correctly before making his and then even came over to our table with a takeaway cup when he realised he was struggling to make it easier for him. Wished us a good day which is not very often you hear! Whatever you are paying him isn’t enough...
