Homie's Wheatley Hall Road — Restaurant in Doncaster

I’ve used this three times now. So feel qualified enough to review.

I like the premises and the decor. Fresh looking and clean.

The menu offers plenty. I’ve been drawn to chicken burger box meals where you get strips, fries, beans. Plus I tried a pizza on the last visit.

The food has been consistently good each time. The coating on the chicken is crisp, and this is fast food cooked to order so expect to wait a little longer than most places.

Fries are crisp, if unseasoned, so get yourself some salt. In fact, they don’t give you any sauce with your order, which I feel they should be asking (mayo, garlic mayo, ketchup) etc. I’ve been charged for mayo each time I’ve been which at this price point I think is a little much.

Improvement needed with consistently cold beans. They leave little pots on the pass in tiny plastic containers. Stone cold. I couldn’t be bothered to complain but this isn’t very acceptable.

Also, I noticed that fresh food can be left on the pass rather than be delivered to your table/ called out, for ages. Leaving a perfectly crisp chicken burger and sides to deteriorate unnecessarily. They should be calling out numbers for collection as soon as part of an order is ready, rather than wait for the pizza for instance to complete the order.

Sort out the slow service, offer us some good sauces for free, and put on a little music, and this has what it takes to be one of the best offerings this side...

Ordered food at 20:01, we were told it would be a 30 min wait for our pizzas which we were fine with. We told them we would go to the shop and come back to which we did. It eventually got to 8:50 and we checked on how much longer the food would be. We wasn’t told exactly how much longer it would be but shortly after we were given 2 Ice creams with Nutella on. With 1 of us having a nut allergy it wasn’t exactly great that they didn’t check this first. We asked them to take it back due to this but the fact that they’d given this to someone with a nut allergy wasn’t even acknowledged. At 9:07 we were finally told it would be another 5 minutes, it did then come out at 9:15 and the food was good but certainly not worth a 1 hour 15 minute wait. The shop wasn’t busy, plenty of staff who may I add were just stood in the kitchen eating and talking. People then came in at and ordered pizzas and they received theirs in around 15 mins. Workers apologised and gave us a free large bottle of pop but this whole experience was just not worth the time or the money so we certainly shall not...

First time going to this new fast food place! The interior is blue and very friendly, walk in and was greeted immediately We weren't rushed when deciding our food and he even tried to save us money by offering meal deal options! Friend had a pizza and cheesy chips, I had chicken strips and peri peri chips Can I just yes Yes The chicken tasted like old school KFC which is something I missed! It tasted fresh! The peri chips too, shall I say fries, were gorgeous! Like a medium spice but not too overpowering I lost sense of taste!

My friends pizza was a perfect size for one person and that looked fresh as anything! Needless to say we devoured all of our food which is a First for us!
