The Rum Rooms — Restaurant in Doncaster

This was the first time at the rum rooms myself, and the second time for my partner after visiting with her mum. I kid you not, simply the best 10z steak I’ve ever had, ever corner of the plate added a special something to the dish and a phenomenal new flavour. My partners mushroom stroganoff was equally as unique and awesome, she tells me her favourite part was everything. The chef running the kitchen tonight simply knows food and what it takes to make amazing dishes, so thank you very much for an amazing experience with food.

The owner was exceptionally welcoming, and an absolute delight to be waited on by, charismatic and full of charm, paying particular attention to how our evening was going.

I’d like to leave a tip- for the girl serving behind the bar yesterday with the pink tipped hair in a ponytail wearing the leopard print headband. It’s a real shame your attitude wasn’t as good as the choice of rums available. A smile wouldn’t have gone amiss either. 6 of us came here on Saturday tea time for some rums, it wasn’t overly busy and there were 3 staff serving. Sadly we got you- the one with zero patience or who was even going to offer any help with the choice of rums and complimenting mixers available to us. I was the girl who asked your advice on picking a “coconut flavoured rum” Perhaps we weren’t quick enough with our decision on what we actually wanted to order although it wasn’t like you had a queue of people to serve. Words can't express how incredible this place is, I cannot recommend it enough. I booked it for my husband's 40th birthday and the owner and staff could not have done more for us. Incredible food - beautifully cooked unique and creative dishes, our whole party enjoyed absolutely every mouthful - we all had different things. Amazing friendly, attentive service over email prior to our visit and whilst there, including a very generous gesture of a free drink for my mother in law. Other reviews say it's a hidden gem - this is spot on! We enjoyed rum flights before our meal, the Rum Rooms below the restaurant have a spectacular selection of rums.
