3rd September 2025 I wanted to add another visit to the below visit. (Still go for breakfast and occasional lunch/evening meal and cake-away.) Tonight I went with a friend after a rough time at home just to get out of the house I bought us both a cake-away (mars) and a drink each. And has a nice time with my friend. BUT my friend went to buy us another drink and happened to mention I was feeling down and the staff felt sorry for me and bought me another cake-away to cheer me up. I want to thank the 4 ladies EMILY, PAIGE BERNI & MEL for their kindness and their sweet gesture to cheer me up. It really touched me and it did cheer me up. I will be telling every man and his dog and the dogs fleas how thoughtful everyone is at Wood field Farm. Thank you ladies ❤️❤️ Picture of their note attached. (If there's a problem with me having the cake let me know and I'll pop in and pay for it. I'd hate for you all to get in trouble. 💋❤️ All you can eat breakfast 🥓🍳 and refillable tea☕ - £8.49 (bargain) 👍 Done this a couple of times before as a treat. This morning I met some friends . I booked a table this morning at 07:25 for 09:00 and we all tipped up an hour and a half later. Our table had it's reserved sign on it. We paid at the till and received our plate and mug and set off to collect our drinks and food. There was an abundance of sausages, bacon, black pudding, hash browns, mushrooms, chopped tomatoes (I think fresh halves of tomatoes but not positive) scrambled eggs, fried eggs toast (brown and white) butter packets and jam or marmalade packets. All was hot. I'm vegetarian so I didn't eat the obvious bits, (they do cook vegetarian sausages to order but they're not my preference) My friends obviously enjoyed everything as there were no complaints and they went up for a 2nd serving. All the staff were friendly, helpful and had plenty of time for you even though they were busy. I shall continue to visit for breakfast treats (and Cake-away. But that's a whole other ballgame 🍰👍😃 ) Tuesday 13 September A few months on and Google asked me to update. I went in this morning with 2 friends and the price has gone up by 49p, which is nothing when you think how EVERYthing has shot up just lately. The food was all still there as before so no complaints there. The staff were all cheerful and friendly as before. The music is loud enough to be clearly heard, but seems to be not there when you're talking so that's a perfect balance in my view. In fact everything seems just as before, which to me means they haven't rested on their laurels and have continued with their good standards. Just realised I forgot the Cake-away food later 🤔😕

This is probably the worst pub I have ever been to eat at. It is absolutely filthy.!!! The food is substandard and to say it sells itself as a place for kids to eat, I would say it is a health hazard and not somewhere I want to expose my children to. On that note the children's play area looks like something out of the ark. there are filthy dust gathering soft toys and other random things pinned to the walls and the actual play area is left wanting with play equipment that doesn't work or is dated and battered. The carvery was horrid having been sat out all day. I cant remember the last time i have had to spit food from my mouth into a serviette as I couldn't eat it. My son's kids meal arrived on a filthy plate that had fingerprints all over it. Shame as it was a treat for his 4th birthday. It was VERY quiet when we visited, yet the floor was disgusting, covered in dropped food all over the place, I would suggest from the Sunday feeding frenzy, yet we visited on a Monday evening. The decor and carpets are beyond tired, they are thread bare and a health hazard. The entrance to the kitchen is like the entrance to the local car repair garage, with the floor, walls and doors are filthy and the carpet is held down with duck tape. In a world of competition to get your money, I would say take my advice and spend your hard earnt money elsewhere. I will NEVER visit this place again unless it has a full refurb. We love Farmhouse inns and go to the other ones in Barnsley and Sheffield on a regular basis. This one is the poor relation. You need to get a grip of this place Greene King/spirit group it's not what we expect of your brand. your staff are very friendly and will no doubt be the thing that keeps this place afloat.

Last experience was a disaster. Management calling me a liar that they had a festive gluten free menu. Paid for a mulled wine - apparently their warmer was broken so a manager decided to steam it via the coffee machine steam wand. Looked absolutely grim like pond scum wine. I queried repeatedly why there were inconsistencies between different restaurants within the same chain (Farm House Inn / Green King). I referenced to having been at Elmwood Farms, Sheffield a week or two previously and had no issues... But they couldn't answer that and kept telling me I'm delusional and don't know what I'm talking about in regards to the menu and service. At one point while waiting for a manager I saw a member of bar staff opening a bottle of mayo with their teeth - in front of a customer at the till. So a member of dining team could take it to someone's table. A manger was stood nearby, watching, and said nothing. Ended up getting a full refund for the visit - then one of the managers came up and profusely apologised and had a recipe card for the kitchens for the meal I ordered and paid for - stating that it had never been actioned for use. Then offered to make me the same meal I paid for and ordered and was subsequently told they couldn't make in 10 minutes. I declined and left. My confidence in this restaurant is completely gone. It's sad and wholly upsetting that when you have dietary requirements and staff aren't clued up on their own menu or food preparation. Would not recommend as safe for anyone with a food intolerance or allergy.

I recently visited Woodfield Farm with my partner and both my parents for a carvery. While our experience had some positive aspects, there were enough issues to bring it down to a 3-star rating for us.

Firstly, my mother, who is a vegetarian, rated the restaurant a 4 out of 5 for the quality of the food. She enjoyed her meal overall, but the cauliflower was undercooked in the middle, which was a bit disappointing.

My father had a meat carvery and said the food was generally good. However, some of the carrots were too hard and not cooked properly, and some roast potatoes were not fully cooked with hard chunks in the centre. The parsnips were overly greasy, but the meat was good. He would also rate the restaurant a 4 out of 5.

My partner had a meat carvery with gammon and said he would rate it as a 2 out of 5. He noted that the staff at the counter did not seem interested at all. Additionally, they mixed up our four soft drinks, though when we finally got our drinks, they were nice. Most of the vegetables were undercooked, but the gammon was good. He also had to queue twice to find out that only three cake options were available, even though only one was marked as unavailable in the display cabinet. It was frustrating that the staff didn't inform him of the limited selection when he first asked, causing unnecessary back-and-forth. We encountered some cleanliness issues as well. Out of the four knives in the table tray, two had dried food on them and were not clean, which was quite off-putting.

On a positive note, we were greeted by a friendly lady at the door who took us to our seats, and a lovely gentleman assisted us with more napkins when needed. These small gestures were appreciated but didn't fully offset the other issues.

Overall, while there were some highlights, the experience was on the verge of being poor due to undercooked vegetables, uninterested staff, and cleanliness issues. With more attention to detail and better service, Woodfield Farm could improve...

Highly Disappointing Breakfast Experience – Would Not Recommend My daughter and I were hoping for a pleasant sit-down breakfast in a nice setting, but unfortunately, this establishment fell far short of expectations.

Upon arrival, we navigated the self-service system, common in this area, where you select a table and order at the bar. We found a booth, and after a quick glance at the notably brief menu, proceeded to order.

The issues began immediately at the counter. The cashier handed me a plate for the buffet that had clumps of dried food stuck to the bottom. While I understand mistakes happen, my request for a clean plate resulted in another with dried egg on top. It took a third attempt to finally receive a clean plate. The provided tea/coffee cup also had food residue on the outside, though the rim was clean. At that point, I simply wanted to get on with breakfast, so I reluctantly used it, only to find the coffee at the beverage station was lukewarm.

The food itself was equally disappointing. The "Breakfast Yorkshire Pudding" from the buffet was rock-hard and cold, and adding tomatoes did little to improve its texture. The scrambled eggs were unremarkable, and surprisingly, they had already run out of fried eggs by 10:00 AM. Overall, the buffet offerings were consistently bland and served at an unappetizing low temperature.

My daughter's Eggs Benedict fared no better. One egg was cooked correctly, but the other was severely undercooked with runny whites. The entire dish was overpoweringly salty, rendering it almost inedible.

In summary, the combination of multiple hygiene issues, consistently poor food quality (cold, bland, and improperly cooked), and gruff service made for an extremely disappointing and frustrating meal. I absolutely would not recommend this...
