We didn't book so glad we got a table, though my family was seated in the barn area, it was clean and quiet, which I actually prefer, but would have been nice to have been asked if there was somewhere else I'd prefer, I went back to the bar to order and was asked if I would pay in advance for my meal, I actually felt quite insulted, I would normally be asked if I wanted to start a tab when entering a similar establishment. My daughter and I meals were great, my mum on the other hand had 1 nice roast potato and 2 poorly warmed roast potatoes one bruised and green, now there is absolutely no excuse for such such poor quality as the bruising and green were clearly visible when served. The cutlery and napkins were put into a pile on the table and no attempt to lay them out let alone to hand then over individually. For paying over 40 for the meals and soft drinks, I'd expect a better service and that was reflected in...
Read moreJust abysmal! Service - non existent. Food - appalling. Cost - excessive. Took my elderly mother for lunch. She was looking forward to having the seafood platter with an added half lobster. Prawns were tasteless, mussels inedible and the lobster, what a joke, it was a tiny lobster that should never have been caught - no more than about 25 grams of meat costing an extra £9! My lambs liver was totally overcooked and tough - just awful. Service was non existent, we had to go to the bar three times to ask for drinks and other items. Such an extraordinary disappointment. We feel completely duped by the Crispin Inn. We will never return. Especially when a stone’s throw away across the river you have the new Quayside Bar that serves great food at a reasonable price with superb staff...
Read moreSadly I cannot rate this more. The food served was substandard undercooked or overcooked. The braised liver served pink and then offered for it to be cooked medium or well done suggesting this was not braised at all. Please, offal should never be served pink!!! The child’s meal of simple chicken nuggets and chips cooked crisp and dry. The meal of lentil daal cold on eventual arrival and having to be returned. Only meal of chicken roast being acceptable. For the price along with a glass of coke, half glass of beer and a coffee over £80 I find this impossible to rate anymore or recommend as a...
