We came here for a spontaneous afternoon tea as it seemed popular and was very well reviewed. Sadly, it was rather disappointing... What we thought would be a collection of delish homemade sandwiches, cakes and sweets tasted quite mediocre - in fact, lots of the cakes looked and tasted like those you'd buy ready made from your local supermarket or the pound shop. Nothing felt fresh, either. We were also sat a very awkward table which seemed to be in the way of everything and everyone... I am a big afternoon tea lover and have had better experiences for less of a price and with better customer service. I have never encountered being turned away before, and not in that manner, from somewhere that is quoted as dog friendly, which I always...
