The Court Yard Bar and Restaurant — Restaurant in Dover

I saw an amazing write up about this place on Facebook, but when I turned up, me and my partner and my Four year old.. walking through the door there was no greeting, it was as if we had too figure the place out ourselves, it wasn’t busy at all as it was around _1pm time. When we found a table there was a man with menus stood there, didn’t even say hello.. just handed these menus too us and said too ‘wave us down when ready too order’ but literally a minute after handing the menu too us, there he was again with a notepad and pen, basically rushing us to make a choice.. the menu isn’t user friendly at all, I asked for a children’s menu too which the response was “we don’t have any printed out, you will have too check online for the menu”.. I was shocked.. to be honest I didn’t understand the menu at all as it’s very minimal and not all of it is English. Had me questioning ‘what does this say, what does this mean’.. so we refused to eat here after feeling unwelcome, rushed and upset about the kids menu. We had better service, great choice of foods down at Wetherspoons instead .. “If your in your elder years, understand posh written menus and have plenty of money, this is the place for you, if your a young family save your money and find somewhere more...

This is my favourite restaurant in Deal, and I will definitely be visiting again in the future. 👌 The service was great and friendly with a steady pace to allow you to enjoy your meals without being disturbed, and also helpful picking from the menu if uncertain about the options.

The atmosphere is beautiful and relaxed, and sets a warm and fancy tone for those romantic evenings out. The facilities are also very clean and pleasant, which helps. The food was delicious and did not take long to reach the table, and the menu described the dishes very well while also listing the ingredients used. This will be a great help for anyone uncertain or with allergies.

Along with the table service, the restaurant holds entertainment to accompany our eveningInOn the evening I experienced, they had a musician performing for us which played a nice variety of songs live, some including Irish music which was an added bonus for me.

Absolutely appalling night! We weren't given a menu for 45 minutes. We were in the back room, which i can only describe as a free for all!! There were two ther groups as well as us who were celebrating, the volume was so loud from the other tables we couldnt hear what each other were saying! The bad language was appalling. We asked three times during the evening to be moved and were told that the very loud table had there food and should quiet down, they did until they started ordering shots! Our main course came out two hours after we arrived, the staff really couldnt care.we left half way through our main as we couldnt handle it any more.
