Dessert Corner — Restaurant in Dudley

Ok i dont normally write reviews and stuff but think Dessert Corner really deserves one. Went there last week for the first time and have to say was very pleasantly surprised! My kids and best friend have been raving about this place all year so i thought i would finally go in. The staff were really helpful and courteous and the food, wow! I usually go to Birmingham for my desserts and no way would i get as big portions as i got here, put it this way we all were eaters and we were absolutely stuffed before we left. The portions are huge without losing the quality and for what we paid you just can't go wrong. Maybe that was the reason why it was so busy, think i saw the whole of Dudley in there lol. Will definitely be bringing my family here in future instead of going all the way to Birmingham and getting half for double the price. Its funny how when one opens then all the rest follow, apparently there's one now open round the corner who ive heard are pulling people of the street, think everyone's in Dessert Corner lol. Went to eat in with my daughter and i have to say the atmosphere was lovely. Staff were so friendly and helpful when it came to choosing what i wanted. The selection of ice cream is impressive, enjoyed trying out some new flavours. I go to quite a lot of dessert places and can honestly say Dessert Corner exceeded my expectations, true value for money, you can't really go wrong. I ordered a cookie dough, waffle to eat in and a millshake to take out. The service was brilliant considering the lenghth of the queue at the time and staff checked up on us to see if we need anything which was nice. We enjoyed every bite of our desserts and left our plates looking unused, desserts were just delicious, mouth watering and so satisfying . I left feeling like I really got my monies worth. Visited today for the first (and last) time and were appalled by the lack of organisation and poor customer service. Ordered pancakes and ice cream and were left waiting for half an hour before an unconvincing apology was given and we were informed that the staff were yet to begin cooking our order. We confronted them, asked for a refund and were met with a rude and argumentative tone from the man behind the counter, who reluctantly gave us change. Sure, people were waiting and queuing up outside, but that was only due to the fact it took the man an average in ten minutes to serve each individual.
