So the experience started great had a friendly chat with the girl at the counter and ordered a tea and 2 bacon and eggs on toast.
My food was served to me after having a few bites I noticed my eggs weren't fully cooked.
I waited until the girl at the counter wasn't serving anyone and quietly said my eggs are not fully cooked.
She was nice and said we will cook your order again.
I said it's ok just do us a couple of new eggs and take these back.
After about a minute a women comes from around the back puts the plate back down on my table and told me they are cooked. And continued with a condescending attitude towards me, I said they are not cooked fully.
She then said well I'll put them back on then and turn them. you take off the eggs so I don't touch them.
I said it's ok I'll just keep them. She replied no ill do it you only leave me a bad review.
I said I didn't plan to.
Anyway raw eggs on the side for almost £9 Re cooked bacon by the looks of it. Tea was lovely tho. But really how much are eggs 20p each?
So I finish my toast and bacon. Take my plate to the counter and say to the girl thanks the tea was lovely.
But please look at these eggs I'm not making it up.
She replies I don't eat eggs i don't know to be honest.
I get it you don't want to say anything.
I said but that lady's attitude is bad.
The woman then come from the back shouting the eggs are cooked and I knew you were going to be trouble the moment I walked in, in front of customers.
I understand you were short staffed everyone in the cafe knew it you were moaning loudly enough that there were only two of you.
Customer service is a disgrace Even if you believed they was cooked why not just replace them? Why come over to argue.
After that yes you're getting a bad review I'm sorry to the owner but sort the staff out.
I've added the pictures of my eggs you can make your own mind up.
For the owner to check cameras the experience was...
Read moreI have given three stars because part of the problem was my own lack of attention to the menu otherwise I would have given two. I entered this morning and saw regular and large Full English breakfasts, I ordered regular because I didn't want a large meal. The composition of the "regular" breakfast was detailed on the board but hands up, I didn't read it, I simply assumed that a £4.95 breakfast would be a reasonably sized plate of food. How disappointed I was. One piece of toast, one sausage, one rasher of bacon that I could have played table tennis with, one egg, very small portion of beans and tomatoes. I'm a big fellow and it really was a poor portion of food. As I sat contemplating the plate in front of me I cast an eye at the menu. For an extra £1 I could have had an additional sausage, rasher of bacon, mushrooms, hash brown and I believe one extra piece of toast. Why didn't the assistant make me aware of this? My advice to this cafe is rename the regular breakfast "small breakfast" and the large breakfast "regular breakfast". That should resolve similar dilemmas in future. A very...
Read moreAlways looked forward to food from here when visiting friends and family over this way - lovely little cafe with friendly staff and fab service, however when I went in today the quality of the produce has significantly dropped. They still use real crusty fresh granary and white bread but the sausages which used to be the lovely long thin butchers sausages (and this quality of product was what really made me enjoy it) have been replaced by cheap Irish style sausages and the beans were cheap and anaemic. It’s still good value and nicely cooked and I absolutely get that costs have increased significantly and businesses need to make money, I was just a bit disappointed as I was really looking forward to it. It was the quality of the products which...
