Olive Tree — Restaurant in Dudley

What a strange business! We ordered two pizzas just under two hours ago. According to Just Eat, delivery should have been within 50 minutes, but it got delayed. By the time it finally arrived, I’d gone past being hungry. I had to call them myself after nearly two hours.

When the driver eventually arrived, he was apologetic and very polite. I mentioned that two hours is far too long to wait and that I wasn’t willing to pay the full price. Since I was paying cash, I offered to pay half. The driver explained that it wasn’t up to him and made a call to the business.

I honestly expected the restaurant to acknowledge their mistake and take a small loss out of fairness—but no. The driver came back and said, “Either pay full price or no pizza.” I was shocked! I have ordered from olive tree for years but after tonight it will be the last. To pay near £13 for a bare average burger and chips with coleslaw is way overpriced for such an underrated meal. Having to wait over an hour for it to then be met with a dry cheap bun that felt like it was from a Tesco's multi-pack. Chicken fillet, well hardly chicken fillet as it was sliced for thinly it's more like half a fillet and dry. These burgers used to be so good and I know the cost of things have increased, but to see standards have dropped is such a shame. Unless things improve, I will not be ordering again with a 50%...

Very disappointed, after reading other reviews, I expected better. Paper thin dough, very limited toppings, and the ham and pineapple looked totally anaemic, the cheese was that sparse the pineapple all fell off as it was picked up. The chicken (that was part of the deal we chose), was in cheap burnt breadcrumbs and unexpectedly tasted spicy, was unpleasant and seemed cheap, and the two types of chips we had to try them , well you can dress them up anyway you like, by naming them after any country you like, at the end of the day, they were just over cooked frozen oven style chips that had been fried and...
