Visited tonight and left overall slightly disappointed after visiting numerous times over the years with no faults. On arrival we were greeted by an immense odour from the Gents toilets but thankfully after entering the pub itself, the smell disappeared. Food was average tonight - if anything seemed like it had been sat for a while before being served. Portion sizes were great however. Desserts were the biggest disappointment. We paid for the adults brownie sundae, only to be provided with a small one. Thought this was odd as previously they were massive but didn’t question anything as thought this had perhaps changed. It was only until our Ice cream was gone when we noticed two big brownie sundaes leaving the kitchen! Our second sundae, a vanilla one with raspberry sauce and wafers (was delivered more like a vanilla ice cream, jam and no wafers). Staff lovely as always. Hoping it was just an off tonight!

Small but pleasant and comfortable dining area... there's always a lively atmosphere in the area which shows a variery of sporting events. Friendly staff, great food offers... always worth a visit. The two bottles of wine for ÂŁ15 on a Saturday evening was a welcome surprise.

Staff very nice and freindly but the food wasnt great, vegetables on the roast were undercooked, and the chicken and waffles on the menu says it has maple syrup, but they serve it with honey. We ordered dessert but it never came

Food was amazing! Went for the first time to celebrate my grandmas birthday. The food was very tasty and good quality. However what let me down was where we were seated, three of us were being really blinded by the sun. We tried pulling the curtain across but it didn’t cover any of the window. This made it quite uncomfortable. When we asked to maybe move seats or have something done about it, the gentleman was very rude and said “We’re booked up. I can’t move the sun.” And when we said the curtain wouldn’t pull across he said “Well yeah they are decoration only.” There was no attempt to make it comfortable for us so we just had to be blinded. There was one other table used in the room the whole time so not sure how that’s booked up? When our food arrived, one of our members asked if they had mustard and he took off his glasses and reached over the table to her as if to say “open your eyes” (as there was mustard on the table). I understand that was sarcasm but following the conversation beforehand I just didn’t enjoy it. But food wise was lovely. If you’re vegetarian I will add there aren’t that many options but I found the options good and from the quality of the food you shouldn’t be disappointed!

Update: as I can’t reply I’d like to just reassure you we weren’t offered any other seating arrangements as we would not have refused. I totally appreciate the other table was booked but there were many other tables we could have sat at. And really it’s the lack of help in anyway and being told they can’t control the sun that I...
